I've never felt the need to post on a thread before, but this is the worst endgame boss battle I've ever had, and I play a lot of games. To the guy who said the health stays at the decreased rate of the damage you do over six attempts, that's not a thing anymore. It would have been a piece of cake otherwise.
The one shot mechanic being used so frivilously makes this fight extremely unenjoyable.. and this is coming from a guy who beat Elden Ring on NG+ using a melee character. I obviously enjoy the unenjoyable battles, but this is downright unfair.
2 of the 6 attempts that I had ended with me having the Arbiter down to 30% health, him casting the bomb, me running into the circle for safety and then getting one shotted by the flame wave he shoots across the screen.. literally no way to win in both of those fights.
That said, I'm just going to develop a cheesy freeze/one shot build and ruin my enjoyment of the game just to get the content done. Thanks, GGG. POE 2 was a great lay, but she left me with blue balls.

Pretty sure it is just a DPS check.
IF you have something like 50k-100k+ DPS he should be dead before he goes thru any phases.

First is the mandatory super move speed requirement that requires you to change your build which already feels bad. Then there is so much RNG in mechanics placement that it's just incredibly unenjoyable.
I wish this fight would get completely reworked because I just hate it and I don't care about citadels anymore either since I know I will not beat this boss.
I can handle breach, expedition and ritual bosses without any problem. Delirium is hard but doesn't feel frustrating and unfair like Arbiter.
And I don't want to have to cheese the fight by killing him in 5 seconds or permanently freezing him or whatever because it's clearly not what was intended for this fig0ht.
They're just shitty FF14 fights. When FF14 fights are already absolute shit.
I beat Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on Revengeance difficulty with zero items, so I like hard games.

This sums it up entirely.
I know it's an old Post, but I never had interest till this patch to even want to progress this far because the end game was basically trash. I've died on this guy about 70 times in a row because I'm not fast enough to actually reach all of the circles in time when 1/2 of the time they spawn on the opposite side of the arena in random order. There is Zero skill to this fight it's all playing Simon says and making sure your character is fast enough to actually reach the perfect spot on the arena every time. It's not rewarding at all. It feels like a total waste of time and very aggravating, when you can do the entire rest of the game using your skills. This fight makes all of the progression up to that point completely meaningless.

This further illustrates how bad the boss fight is. If you have to kill it before it can actually do any of the things it's designed to do than it sucks. That's completely pointless. That is the epitome of bad game design.

Totally agree. Even tho they improved the visuals of the corridor, the fight is still a big mess.
Imo it's the worst designed boss in all of PoE.
