Network lag makes poe2 unplayable
It’s not just frustrating; it’s disheartening, especially considering how much potential the game has. I’ve checked my internet connection multiple times, optimized my setup, and even switched servers, but the problem persists.
Grinding Gear Games, if you’re reading this, please prioritize fixing these network issues! I know I’m not the only one dealing with this. A smooth and stable experience is essential for a game like POE2, where precision and timing are critical. I keep wondering if this is related to the servers, maybe attacks (ddos, spaming new users) on the servers or the game's visualization itself. It could be that keeping players in the same cluster during heavy lag (caused by one or multiple players spamming skills) is contributing to the issue. Is anyone else facing the same issues? Any tips or temporary workarounds? Let’s hope they address this soon because the game deserves to shine without these technical hurdles. Last bumped on Jan 22, 2025, 8:18:17 AM

I had a similar experience when I first started. I know it's not my internet because I have 10gb fiber (upload and download) I spent hours trying to configure proxies, vpn, and port forwarding without having any noticeable change.
What eventually worked for me was using my phones Hotspot. I'm not sure why but the game plays perfectly on it. |

No, Hotspot is not fixing the problem for me. Also on optic fiber 300/300

Some people have said that vpn helps them.
Ports to forward are TCP: 80, 443, 1935, 3478, 3479 3480. UDP: 3658, 3074, 3478, 3479. If you want to try a VPN you either need to use a desktop client or if your router is capable to use the VPN on its hardware. set you computer with a static IP, configure your router to your vpn, and enable the VPN or the static ip of your computer. You can try alternative DNS' 8.8.8.8/ 8.8.4.4 some vpn services offer alternative "smart" DNS' as well. I tried all of the above but had no lick with them. Some people have had success though. Best of luck man. |

Yes, actualy VPN helps. But this needs to be resolved asap. Still a huge problem for this game

" I'm trying to understand this. You have business class 10,000 megabyte upload/download dedicated fiber (10gb fiber is not a residential plan) and your mobile hotspot is what you're using? |
|
" Yes, if I play on my fiber the ping randomly jumps causing what looks like frame drops and input lag. I don't know why but my phone's Hotspot doesn't have this issue. |
|
" Maybe you should talk to your ISP. |

" Maybe you should talk to your ISP.[/quote] It only happens with this game, I've already replaced all of my internet cables with cat 6a thinking that it was an issue with having a mix of 6, 6e and 6a on my switch. I went as far as bypassing my entire home network and directly connecting to my computer and the issue was still prevalent. |

Really laggy here as well, please do something to fix this servers.
