Why are we still identifying items?
Seems like a step backwards in a new game. Its kind of useless to still have to identify items, slows the gameplay down and its not like we need to find identify scrolls anymore since we get the hooded one in our hideout\available pretty much from the beginning.

I like buying/selling Unid items for that reason I don’t even think much of it.

You are identifying items so you have to make a concious choice as to whether you collect them.
Yes it slows your gameplay down, that is the purpose. Why do we still have loot? Why do we still have levels? This is all so you have to... wait for it.... play the game. |

" Gotcha, so if they dropped identified we wouldnt have to make a conscious choice to collect them or not? |
|
" The whole point is to slow down gameplay. They want you to take your time while playing the game so there are intentional mechanics to slow down game progression. |

" It seems like you are not understanding the big picture here. It takes time to ID and search through unidentified items. This slows your mapping progress by a substantial amount. Currently you could NOT pick up rares or you could only collect rares of T4 or above, this would significantly increase your actual mapping speed, in turn generating more RAW currency per hr ect. It MAY even increase your overall currency due to the insignificant value of a lot of rare items. If items dropped identified then the majority of the players would have a loot filter to identify the items that are worth collecting and you would collect them. You would not know that the other items even existed as they would be removed from view. This would remove the choice as to whether you collect rares or not as you would ONLY be collecting the ones of value. So no you woudln't have to make a concious choice to collect them. " The real question is: are the items rolled before the id or after? |
|
It presented to double your dopamine — first you can get excited when you found items and then when you are identifying them. Well, second dose is not guaranteed :)

" I thought that was a lame reason at first, but with the tier system I totally get it. Identifying a tier 4-5 amulet is like unwrapping a birthday present |
|
" Have you never felt the fuzzy feeling when ID'ing a high tier item before? and then the dissapoint when it's accuracy and life regen again? Last edited by BesottedOrb#0064 on Jan 15, 2025, 9:33:51 AM
