"Armour" feel useless for HC
Armour is genuinely good right now. You are wrong if you think it is bad. Some mobs are a bit overtuned, and most of the rippy hits are actually elemental, which you can get at least +3 max resist for on the tree as an armour enjoyer.
Most people are playing armour raw with no life regen, no recoup, and no shield, and expecting it to save your life and work on its own. It wont. The only real problem is that scavenged plating requires armour break while all the other mitigation spirit gems just work passively. Also armour is not actually bad against slams. Even a slam that will do your full health bar is decently mitigatable to keep you alive, and any slam from normal and rare mobs will be just fine if you have 10k+ armour. I managed to tank a slam with 8k armour +15% unique helmet PDR. Armour is bad because if you want to survive a big hit, just get more hp. HP is better than armour, it shouldn't be like this. If you play Titan then armour is okay (not for big hits), but building armour is bad idea for every other class. |

Yeah armour is wet paper right now and worse than evasion and energy shield by a landslide. I made a whole other post talking about the shortcomings of armour and comparisons to defences in PoE1 and how armour could be updated to be properly balanced in PoE2 if anyone is interested:

I like how you can get a bazillion damage to 1 shot bosses and everyones just chilling and someones like, i want to tank a campaign mini boss and people are saying skill issue.
If there are builds that can kill endgame pinnacle bosses in 3 seconds then bottom left heavy armour/shield build shsould be able to go across town to get dinner while in a boss arena without dying. |

They hate melee and hate facetanking, they will just nerf energy shield to be as useless as armour making sure that you will have to spam dodge roll to survive bosses. Because it makes more sense for a fully heavy armored fighter to dodge roll non stop...
