Maybe???? But it wouldn't matter, like it would be more work to not have the EA realm update alongside the game. Most people will have deleted most of their chars before it launches. Either way no one will be playing there EA characters when the game officially launches anyway just like no one will be playing standard when it launches.

I think you're thinking of poe1, there are no active currency sinks in poe2.

They are just going to be doing larger content patches as leagues. You won't lose your current characters and can keep playing them if you choose to. If you choose to play the new content you will need to reroll and start fresh.

But at the end of a season, the content is always transferred to the “Standard” or “EA Group”, right?

My char is on its way to 95 and I didn't expect to end up in a drawer that separates me from the rest.

But if I know that it makes sense to start again at release and it's better to play in the “Standard” than in the “EA Group”, I'll do it.

Can one of the PEO1 veterans please enlighten me?

just wondering they said some sort of reset would happen but later on. Meaning all your stuff gets wiped?

Deflation also takes time and comes with unique pains.

my best bet is on

1. standard will not be reset.

2. a new temp league will be introduced with heavy nerfs to many skills

If PoE2 is like PoE1, basically you have a "standard" league, which lasts forever. Think of it as a recycling bin, where everything eventually goes. Then, you have "seasonal leagues" that last typically 3 months. You make new characters in the new league, and you cannot bring any of your gear form the other, older leagues. However, you can keep playing your old characters in the old (standard) league. Think of it as different worlds, running at the same time. Then at the end of the "seasonal league", your character and all your gear/loot gets dumped into "standard" league. This means "standard" league becomes a permanent collection of all the temporary stuff that was made over time.

What does this mean for your current character? It will probably stay level 95 in the "standard" league, and you can still keep playing it in the "standard league", even after a "seasonal league" starts. That being said, most other players will probably play the new "seasonal league", so the "standard league" market will probably change/shrink.

Theoretically, it is possible to have multiple permanent leagues, like multiple standards leagues. I suspect this is what will happen when there is an "economy reset".

Economy reset == New League.

They are not wiping characters. Your characters/items just cant be used in the new league. Nothing is deleted and you can play your current character. Just not in the new league.
