They said there will be no economy reset, but what it means?
What is an economy reset and why everyone in poe twitter want it to happen?
Thx

It basically mean a restart of the league/standard. Kind of like how in Diablo 4 every new season/ladder is a complete new wipeout - starting all new characters from fresh (like a database wipeout).

They could do it then, or at least start a new league

They are waiting to see what else the players will figure out.

I mean, the economy is screwed way beyond repair now.
(From the 1000% magic find to the sanctum dupe, not sure which was worse)

There is no point in "fixing" it, just to end up in the same mess 5 days later.(now that players know what to do)

Also, keep in mind that there will be severe class nerfs. (And buffs).
This travesty with the ES being the only way to go will not last.

A character wipe would be shooting themselves in both feet. With a rocket launcher.

What do you think would be the reaction of the casual playerbase (which I expect to overwhelmingly dominate player numbers for now), the kind of people that never played an online-only game before, never played a seasonal game before, come from SoulsLikes, might be playing a few hours per week in couch co-op, haven't even gotten to Act 3 yet, don't even think about trading... upon seeing their characters deleted ? To fix an issue that is invisible to them ?

(All of these players being potential future long-term PoE2 players, and maybe even potential PoE1 players.)

And this will piss off more enfranchised players too : EA FAQ promised no wipes - what am I supposed to tell my couch co-op partner if next time they come to play they find out both our characters are gone, after several weeks (weekends) of playing ? (We're at Act1 boss now.)

Now, a new season with current characters being seamlessly moved to an EA permanent (non-Void !!) league would be fine.

GGG, do NOT fuck this up !

The economy is self healing, given the many various currency sinks currently in the game, once all the exploits are fixed the amount of circulation will adjust itself over a time.

Valid! I like the seasonality of things and a need to keep gear up to date with the content you're playing etc. But it also sucks having a gear peace that you love sitting bricked because it's from 3 seasons ago. I think because of trading it has to reset as one can grind currency to max gear. In games like destiny who don't allow trading but have random drops people grind the season for the new exotics and gear up with the new item levels. Effectivly bricking all the old gear. And so on.

I guess it keeps the casual players undisturbed but also not a great solution.

I'm happy to try a reset but I also like my stuff...

Who said anything about a character wipe ?. when they say reset which he said in the interview, it means a new "season" So all the changes and new content is in that "season" hence the economy reset, you still have you Ea standard char, you need to start fresh if you wanna play that new content in a "season"

No one said about wiping chars, they wont even wipe your early access char when the game retail launches, it was stay in its own no future updates state as a Early Access char that will not have anything to do with retail standard

It means the people who exploited hard and fast are sitting pretty for the next 5 months, as per usual.
What does “stay in its own no future updates state” mean? It's to be expected that new content will be given to both “standard” and “EA” characters at the end of a season, right?
