PSA: New Players read and learn proper etiquette

Hello Exiles,

Todoay i wish to discuss proper POE etiquette. As you may be new to the game and not understand some of the things this community has been doing for over a decade. So let me fill you in so you dont make yourself look like a total clown.

Trading!
So we have simple rules to trading but they may not seem obvious if your brand new. I would strongly recommend you follow these ideals strictly as some folks myself included have little tolerance for breaking these rules.

1. NEVER EVER EVER send a blind party invite to a seller just because they didnt respond do you. Speaking at least for myself you do that crap and there is a 100% chance I will not sell to you

2. If you are buyer YOU go to where the seller is. If your to low level than just tell the seller normally that is fine but as there can be language barriers its best to use your end game toons for trading when able.

3. The Seller initiates the trade NOT you. This isnt as agregious as some other things but seriously just follow the ways of the old player base please :)

4. Bonus one this is minor but have your currency or item or whatever ready dont make people wait.

5. I know it can be frustrating not getting that invite on that item you want but spamming someone isnt cool. If you REALLY want that item wait a min and just send a simple hello and see if there is maybe an eta to get the item. Got to remember alot of folks in maps or end game stuff and dont really care to hop out for a couple of exalts. So just be cool!

Mapping!!

So most of these are common sense yet as we know common sense isnt common so try to not be a jack wagon....

1. FOLLOW THE LEADER. Seriously especially if someone is being cool and doing a public super juiced maps or unique maps etc dont be a jack wagon and follow the party leader. (They are the blue named person on the minimap)

2. If leader dies hoover the maps and give them to the leader. This seems to be something that is currently lost on the player base but dont be a jackhole thats a quick way for an annoyed leader to just end the map runs

3. DO NOT START MAP WITHOUT LEADER. If for some reason the leader is delayed maybe doing a quick trade bio whatever. You may enter but dont start the map just a dick move :/

4. So minor exception to rule 1. In a breach spread out and mop everything


Also shout out to DarkMicrotransactions was thinking about typing this a few days ago and saw he brought up the lack of POE2 etiquette and reminded me to type this up :P

This should be pinned. I've kicked/ignored many people over the years for these same issues.

And please don't haggle on a fixed priced item. No I'm not taking your 1d for a 4d item.

Ill be honest I thought about that except for 2 reasons.

1. I wont make myself a hypocrit on purpose as I am guilty of it
2. The econ is so buck wild like if a dude has a 1-4d item up for a week clearly everyone else thinks its overpriced. Ill admit iv low balled just to throw it out there.

I know a lot of peoples hate on streamers but they are the reason this newbie to POE trade was able to follow etiquette on my first ever trade.

Or, maybe GGG can just implement automated buying/selling features in some sort of marketplace or auction house, I dunno, in the actual game? So people don't have to be expected to deal with all this nonsense? It's 2025, players shouldn't have to deal with all this unwritten rule BS and tab out to web sites to access features which are core to the game. And love it or hate it, the game has clearly been designed and balanced around the economy and trade being a vital pillar of loot acquisition.

And in the meantime you can still follow the trade etiquette.

He is right but here are some better rules so you can avoid the people above .
Price fixers , afkers , scammers and the lot .

1.after you send the whisper , dont invite if you want to buy, wait 5 minutes ,
send a dm asking if he is selling or not , if they dont reply : IGNORE LIST.

2.never buy anything for an exalt , with all the scams , price fixers and hackers going around , just filter the trade not to show 1 exalt items.

3.when you are in their hideout give them a maximum of 20-30 seconds to trade you , if they dont , leave , IGNORE LIST>

4. when they open the trade if there is more then a 10 seconds delay and they do nothing , leave , IGNORE LIST , trust me this will save you.

5.Play SSF.
