ascendancy in poe 2 WTF

I love how people are saying they're too hard and in the same breath mentioning people are selling them. That only says that there are people that have a skill issue and some that don't.

not gonna spend one or two tries anymore this game ( i can go dark souls or elden ring)

played poe1 around +10k hours and poe2 is way to much for my brains

even maps is way to lonng, if u are couple levels u wont get exp at all
anyways to repair this game more rewarding until u have 1 portal

i know ggg wanted hard game

but this game is alrdy to punishing vs rewarding

going back to poe1 or world of warcraft

For me, the difficulty isn’t the issue. The problem is that they reused one of the worst leagues from POE 1—both in terms of gameplay and enjoyment—and showed a lack of creativity with something as important as Ascendancy.

As a POE 1 player, I was hoping the Ascendancy trial would be well-designed, with labyrinths, interesting bosses, and that same adrenaline rush from POE 1. Instead, they just took the worst leagues with their depressing mechanics and forced them into Ascendancy.

Sure, it’s easy to complete if you have a strategy—like some friends who just picked the options to run through it and so on. But what’s the point of that? It kills the excitement for the game. They had so much time to create something new, to improve POE 1’s Lab with different traps, puzzles, and challenges to make players think, instead of forcing us to play through terrible mechanics that I can’t even understand how they made it into POE 1’s core game.

As I mentioned in a post about the same topic, I’ll level up classes and characters as far as possible, but I won’t do Ascendancy—not while it’s tied to these ridiculous mechanics. I’ll take my characters as far as I can without Ascendancy, then create another class and keep going.

There's been people that hated the Lab with a burning passion, as well.
Now we have three options for ascending (ok, one isn't in yet, and probably won't for some while), so the odds one of them is palatable seems a lot higher.
They might not be properly balanced yet, but they did exactly one balance pass since the early access release. I'm sure there'll be more progress in 3 months or so.
Zaanus:
Global chat: Mechanics for A work one way, B for another, C for a third but also with A, B uses C but not A, and D uses A&B but not C

Isn't a "no" better than an ignore?

If there is a market for people to sell carry services for something, it means a substantial amount of people are unable to do it, which is bad since it's a core mechanic every character is expected to do, not some uber pinnacle boss.

If it wasn't many people with the issue there'd be no carry services as there wouldn't be any demand. Since there is sufficient demand for a one off per character service, it means a LOT of people are paying for the carry, which means an order of magnitude more aren't but are also struggling. I would argue the majority haven't done their third let alone fourth ascendancy.

Sanctum Honor system is stupid and automatically bricks half the classes/skills. Ultimatum is insanely over-tuned.

As a Sanctum and Ultimatum hardcore hater, the thing that pisses me off the most about them is the RNG.
In the Sekhema Trial you could go 2 floors without losing 1 honour and then suddenly the choices you get are all build breaking...so you lose.
In Trial of Chaos it's RNG from the first room.

I don't care about difficulty, I've played harder games, and I think ascending should require a bit of work for that reward. But having RNG just fuck you is bad design.

It's not a skill issue how wannabe HC people are saying; having skill involves having control. You can be the best welder in the world, but if some jackass unplugs your welder you can't do shit. Same thing in these trials: you have no control because at one point the game just decides to pull the rug from under you.
Not to mention... It is not guaranteed that you will find a legit seller who won't scam you. Just got scammed last night for my 4th ascendency run. I tried so many times but my monk just doesn't have enough mana regen for the last boss who has a crazy HP pool. I ended up no mana flask when he is 1/3 of health so many times. This is my first ever ARPG game and until the 4th ascendency wall, I was really enjoying the game.

BTW I am spreading words and hope to get the scammers banned. The run is already abysmal and now we need to deal with scammers who take advantage of us who is struggling and just want a casual time farming and building characters.
