Please, please unlink my steam from this account as well!!! I want to play PoE2 with a fresh account that I just made.
Crazy that we gotta wait around for Dev side intervention to take care of something so simple. I can change my email, password, account name... but can't unlink my steam account? lol?

Ikr? And them taking over a month for a thing that should be a matter of seconds is so ridiculous. They took the time to move my forum thread and tell me to not submit multiple inquiries to the support, am sure in that time they could've simply unlinked my account...

I've been having this for 1 month and 8 days, it's infuriating. In my case, they've (support@grindinggear.com) answered me several times but after asking me for information to verify that I was the legitimate owner (when I'm writing to them from the same email account that I've always had on this account and from which I bought the early bird from paypal), without paying attention to the fact that I'm attaching images from the website with the account information, I get them to tell me what they need: the steam ID 64. Well, 13 days later since I gave it to them, I'm still there.
Working in support, I don't understand how a query/request as recurrent as this one isn't accompanied directly by an email or FAQ explaining exactly what they need and how to get it so that in the next email I can provide everything and all that's left is for them to do their part.
I understand that they are up to their necks, but it wouldn't hurt if, even if it means forcing the user to have a double authentication configured beforehand, they could unlink it themselves.

It's crazy to see this seems to be a broader problem. I thought maybe I just got unlucky. But if those are the "normal" support response times at this moment, the support is basically non-functional. Imagine having a REAL problem that needs immediate attention and they leave u hanging out to dry for over a month...
GGG really needs to get their shit together and adjust their support response times. And if more people want to unlink their Steam, they should immediately start to implement a better solution to make it easier for the player and lighten the supports workload.

When I was researching how to do this I first came across a thread from 2015. Some guy was just like "Hey how do I unlink my steam account" And a GGG Dev; I think it was Will, just came right in and was like "Hey I just went ahead and unlinked it for you." So we know its just a mouse click away. But the fact we can't do it ourselves all these years later is pretty infuriating.

I came across the same thread and I'm right there with you. I also strongly believe that this is a matter of seconds, if not maybe minutes. But dragging this out for months is unacceptable. How to loose players before they even started :)
