Is there a way to fix the lag spikes in some maps?

Everytime I make a map rare, it spikes to 30ms and just turns into a slide show, is there anyway to fix it?

Are you sure you mean ms and not fps?
Yeah, I have the latency graph running and it seems to spike in rare maps to 20+ms and the game slows down and then uber speeds up to catch up. FPS is fine.

Okay, "spikes" to 20ms still sound a bit weird to me (20-30ms is completely normal), but you could try changing the gateway to another city in your region before logging in with your character.
I had a similar problem yesterday, after the patch my PC crashed on loading screen and I started to get crazy stutters and lag spikes in most maps. It made the game almost unplayable. These two steps helped me resolved the issue:

Deleting all the files from ShaderCacheD3D12 folder

C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile 2\ShaderCacheD3D12

Then flushing DNS in the command prompt

ipconfig /flushdns

That did it for me.
I've changed region and have deleted the shadercache with the DNS flush, see how I go for a few maps.
You merely adopted the lag; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the fast latency until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding! The lags betray you because they belong to me.

Tell me about game! Why does it lag so much? A lot of latency for a wired con.
