Unauthorized charges and no reply from support?

Sometime during the update the night of the 17th and the morning of the 18th, I was charged for 4 separate purchases of the access pack for POE 2. The alert came from PayPal so, I immediately marked them as fraud thinking it was someone else's account that did the purchase. I realized after that the purchases were through my own POE account. I received no warning that my login for POE had been compromised so I can only assume that whatever GGG did during the update caused the charges to go through. I reset my password anyway. The 4 keys associated with the purchase were not used and I only discovered the purchases an hour after they were made, so I am hesitant to believe I was hacked.

It's been over 24 hours and I typically get a response within the first hour whether by email or web support. What is going on? Am I the only one who was affected? Was I hacked?

Hey there, if you have already contacted us at support@grindinggear.com, we will respond to you as soon as we can. We are currently working through a large number of support requests, but please rest assured we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Same thing happened to me this morning. I wasn't playing either PoE, and I didn't even have any browsers open, but I got 8 (4 from PayPal, 4 from XSolla) emails about 4 purchases that I didn't make.

Wonder how widespread it could be.
I tried to post on reddit yesterday but the mods over there marked it as spam

Email support@grindinggear.com with the details. Account-related issues cannot be dealt with via the forum.

I just got the same thing...$120 of charges I never made. Yeah I'm not waiting for a response, I'm going to dispute these unauthorized charges and mark them as fraud on paypal.

I removed my stored payment info and will never give anymore money to this company ever again.

Someone at GGG ran these internally.

THIS IS FRAUD.

This exact same thing happened to me. Someone accessed my account and purchased four Beta keys. I got a refund from PayPal, which of course locked my PoE account. Support has not responded. Based on the threads I have seen it looked like the the PoE website is being targeted or possibly had a data breach.

The PoE website needs 2FA. Very surprised it does not have that in 2024.
Looks like your password was either not save or already leaked. Change it asap and in general always use more secure passwords for services that have your Credit-Card info - and dont use a password for everything - especially not more important site-passworts everywhere else.

Chargeback is a bad idea most of the time if you want to keep an account.

But yeah its a big issue that the support is so slow at the moment - especially when its about real money.

Also for passwords - one of the most important thing is the length and usage of different characters and it doesnt have to be random and something you cant remember.

Mixe some words that make sense to you maybe even dialect, some numbers and some random symbol.

And please never use one of those sites that "check if your password is leaked" ...

An example for a good password:
