[POE2 EA] CheapBunny's Crit Ignite Detonate Dead Bloodmage | Avatar of Fire | Skeletal Brute
What are your thoughts for this build employing corpse conservation working with Sacrifice? There is one small passive zone that gives 25% chance for corpses to not be destroyed, and there is the support gem which stacks for 50%, and a unique wand that can give another 25% for 75% or up to 80 with a good corrupt roll. I've tested this with 50% and when mapping made DD spam more consistent, and when against bosses, the skeletal clerics would revive brutes blown up and not conserved.
I admit, the build hinging on RNG is risky, but I feel it's an effective build. Last edited by DivineEssence#2374 on Jan 6, 2025, 6:25:24 PM

" This is actually the quite typical physical detonate dead build out there, I have seen a few videos about that build, and I think they are pretty solid. Last edited by cheapbunny#0890 on Jan 7, 2025, 1:06:30 AM

I mean for this ignite build? You guys earlier are right, DD is hard to scale when you focus only on its physical damage, and BM and AoF w/ ignite makes it more easy to do. Being able to spam DD on bosses would be really interesting with high crit and crit damage to test when I get my BM to maps.

" I personally think that 5 Skeletal Brute is enough without the not consuming corpse, the extra damage from not investing into it (better weapon & passive skill) should make up for it. Last edited by cheapbunny#0890 on Jan 8, 2025, 6:02:32 AM

I don't disagree. However, I stuck with 4 brutes(only have 450 spirit atm)with 4 clerics w/ ingenuity so I had the spirit for CoMD and SRS. It already strikes enough balance on bosses.

Just to add my experience to yours.
Im playing detonate dead right now, but in a different build. Im playing as infernalist with MoM, EB and CI. I have 3,4k mana right now (playing SSF btw). My main dmg comes from archmage but I still play around fire dmg. Im doing T9 map right now and surprisingily, its fine. I use ember to kill an ennemy, then detonate dead with increased area of effect + inevitable crit + spell echo to clean pack of mobs and its really strong. I use ember + firewall against bosses and its okay, I kill them in T9 maps in 30sec-1min. But against few of them, they pop some adds and then I did 75% of health bar of a boss with just 1 detonate dead. I realized so the dmg of the spell But to still play my build I need 60 more spirit (at least) to have sacrifice + 1 chunky minion. And Im wondering if against boss, having just 1 minion to use detonate dead would be enough ? (I could use ember aswell while waiting the revive of my minion). When I almost OS the boss, I have the feeling of the big potential of the spell. With my build, I have big flat dmg with archmage and +365% more crtifical dmg with a 32% chance to crit. So yeah I have the feeling I can do some millions of dmg when using it. But would a single chunky minion would be enough ??? Btw I have a question about avatar of fire. Cause it says "75% of dmg converted into fire dmg", what about the initial fire dmg you are doing ? Would it be the same amount of dmg than initial ? Or would you lose 25% of initial fire dmg ??? |

" 1 minion could be enough for low tier boss, but I'd think it would not be enough for high tier/pinnacle boss. I assume initial fire damage means the base fire damage from detonate dead. The base fire damage does not get converted so you dont lose 25% of it. However, you do lose 25% of the physical damage. |

@cheapbunny, can we get an update of what it's like after the patch?

" I think there is nothing affected the build in the patch note |

I decided to stick with corpse conversation when I got more spirit, why? I discovered just how amazing Archmage is with DD with high crit(45%)/crit dmg(380%+). I only have 1.6k mana but Archmage drastically boosted DD's burst dmg. I almost 4 shot the Trialmaster from the lucky chain crits just from 2 30k health Brutes and now tempted to try it on Sekhemas boss.
Just being able to spam DD on bosses without relying on priests is very alluring, even if it's RNG. It's hard to drop, ngl. I'm not going to deny that it's not an efficient sub-build, but I think that's part of the charm of this game being more loose with effective builds.
