Trading in POE2: market manipulation

"

...This isn't WoW/Blizzard/Diablo.

...Thats why PoE2 lost popularity like no any game before.
Time changed, wake up, is no anymore 2010 and Mario Bross time. GGG make so many mistakes in developing that still for me is mystery how they are stubborn with actual direction...they are blind?

Current player numbers seem to suggest you just might be the one wrong here.

I do not need be wrong because knowledge is there on web. Steam charts and others. Massive drop after patch 0.2 proofs that GGG is wrong with their vision, after 0.2 is only worse.
Let's say true fact: Souls are not popular type of games right now...that was good over 10 years ago (GGG still lives there)
Justifying current PoE 2 designing the whole game around trading is the wrong direction. We have that, its called PoE 1. If the game still going in this direction, then there is literally no difference between PoE 1 and PoE 2, and PoE 2 is just simply a psyop of Tencent/GGG to squeeze more monetization from the same playerbase.

In the first place, it makes no sense to make, support, and develop two live-service products that eat each other market share. Same principal in product design, same market audience, but different name. It will only make sense if this is being done to increase profits, in which the products will just basically the same between the two because the existing / known consumer from the original product already establish brand royalty and willing to consume the product.

There will be less quality updates, less quality leagues and content, compared to what PoE 1 had before PoE 2 existence.

In the end of the day, Poo2 will just be the same like Poo1, just clunkier, jankier, slower, but prettier graphic. The game will never be able to break the shell of small niche title. Unless GGG stop designing the game like PoE 1 and make PoE 2 be its own game, have its own identity.

PoE 1 itemization / randomization and trading only works in PoE 1, shoving it into PoE 2 will only make the game more and more to become PoE 1. Your offmeta janky build will never be able to beat speed-meta build, and in a game in which your progression dictated by how much and how fast you are able to get resources, its a dead sentence.

Clearly you don't know how to read charts. 200k users on Steam alone, which has been pretty consistent after the initial hype/rush of EA release. Charts show the same cyclical nature that most seasonal ARPGs go through with large peaks for the first few weeks of a new league and then dwindling until the next release.

0.2 peaked at around 250k on steam during release, where 0.3 was a little over 350k on steam.

Compare that to even POE1, and POE2 much higher (though there are more POE1 players that use the stand alone client). LE is even worse, and can't really compare D4 as the majority of their users don't play via steam BUT you can see the exact same cyclical pattern of active users to release cycles.

The numbers do not support your arguement.
protip:
search popular item
sort by biggest price
ignore all names that put that item at stupid high price (price fixing)
search same popular item not just by instant buyout
message for buy those that set for very cheap
if they dont reply, ignore them

congrats your search is now with fewer market manipulators, future searches dont show ignored sellers.

(btw this is an old and outdated thread holy)

yea right...I do not how to make differences between 200K and 100K (actual number)
You CANNOT read these numbers only....more important are trends: massive drop after release 0.3 in 10 days with plump.
simple solution: don't buy it

the 2nd or 3rd best is still good enough and much cheaper.

the problem are not the sellers, the problems are players like the op with the audacity to want the maximal results (best item) for minimal effort (not farm them themself and just get them very cheap to buy)

that's like living from welfare and complaining that you can't afford Gucci and Cartier
Trade should be remove from this game....this is disaster for game!
