Map resets while i,m cleaning my stash in town?

I progressed about 80% through a large and boring map and had to return to camp. I spent some time organizing my stash and upgrading gear, Did i spent too much time? My teleport disappeared and the map reset. I have to replay a boring map all because I went back to town to organize stash. This is a poor design.
