PC HARD LOCK !!!!!

Fix this issue!!!! its impossible to have fun!

From time to time my PC just hangs dead, the only solution is to manually reset my PC using power button.

To players: guys did you see this issue on your end???

Yeah this isn't about the game freezing bozo. It's an issue with certain hardware that hard-locks your entire system, forcing you to restart your entire PC. You don't have the issue. Good for you.

i heard its win11 24H2 update that's problematic.

it makes sense since i have zero issues and i delayed 24H2 instead of installing it.

i dont know if it's easy to revert once it's done but doing so would probably fix your issue for now, i suppose.

microsoft shouldnt do games or buy game studios... they got the monopoly on OSes and could potentially break other games on purpose on key moments ;) you know, a lil subtle update that makes a competitor's game perform badly or crash/freeze lol

Yes, I'm also experiencing the same issue where you get hard locked from your pc and forced to reboot. Nothing else works.

Hi! I've had the same issue on an R7 7700X & 4070ti. The solution for at least the hard lock for me has been to open Task Manager when the game launches, right-click and "Go to details", then right-click again and hit "Set Affinity". My CPU has 16 threads, so I uncheck threads 0-3 from the game so that it cannot use 100% of my CPU during loading screens in case of a crash. The game will still crash occasionally, but this will allow you to close the game with Task Manager and relaunch instead of a hard reboot. Unfortunately, if you have a lower core/thread count CPU, this can impact game performance, but POE is only using about 40% of my CPU in regular gameplay due to my high thread count, so this solution works for me for now. The main downside is doing this every time you launch the game, but it is better than a hard lock.

A PC freeze can NEVER be fault of a software. It can only be caused by:

1. Hardware
2. Operating system
3. Driver
4. Some other stuff running in privileged space (like some anti viruses)

A properly working Operating system should always be able to prevent ANY software from freezing the PC, even if the software is trying to do so.

It ONLY happens during loading screens. This isn't a Windows issue, it's a PoE 2 issue with AMD hardware. So far, every single person who reported this problem was using AMD hardware, myself included.
