Ascendancy Trials Feedback: Understanding Player Concerns
Not only that one can fail randomly to something unfair. There is no reasonable retry. I have been mapping a lot today and haven't gotten another "try" yet. Like 20 maps? Since I will fail 5 times randonmly, have to practice every boss 5 times. And seem to need two days to farm a key... that makes it that I will get my 3rd pair of ascendency points in 30 days? If IF I am gaming a lot every day. That is not going to happen.
And the fourth pair is probably even worse. |

Wholeheartedly agree with this. One point you said was that trials was a thing that could turn people away from the game. That's EXACTLY how I'm feeling right now.
I didn't play POE1 much, only a bit of levelling here and there so I'm looking at this with completely fresh eyes. For context, I'm well versed in playing challenging games, I relish them actually. But the thought of grinding another key so I can have another attempt which I know will take a lot of time and likely end in some BS mechanic bricking the run has me thinking I have better things to do with my time. This is a clip of me getting wiped in about 1 second after a random normal mob threw a bit of fire at me. I have 1 more Barya left, if I get another unavoidable thing like this I think I'll be parting ways with POE.. I mean this (in the video I linked) is clearly a bug right, I can forgive bugs in early access. What I can't understand is who thought this was fun? I seriously hope GGG listens to this post because it's 100% correct. As a new player, everything else about this game so far has been absolutely amazing, such a shame that this one mode is enough to make people quit! Get rid of honour, get rid of the multiple layers of RNG, get rid of the requirement to "find" a key which is gone if you fail the run. Just tie Ascendancy to the campaign. You can't have something as fundamental as your class talents locked behind this... whatever it is.. | |

Not only is it incredibly frustrating to gate class progression behind this kind of RNG, but when you also have to spend 40-60 minutes on the content before failing because you got shafted on the final few rooms in Sekhema, it feels hopeless. When the answer to "What could I have done differently?" is "Be luckier", that honestly feels like a piss-take. Not to mention that the 3rd floor boss is a massive pain as a slow-attacking Titan. Having a class-specific power boost be a significant challenge is fine. Having it depend on mechanics that can literally make or break a run is not. |

Oh I hated the lab, but i've got used to it... But this ? I think i'll never get used to it ever. Too much time consuming, too much stressfull, completely unjust sometimes, never fun even in the completion (that say much...)...
Please, rework them for fun/reason sake! ... nothing
