So just to follow up on the changes I've made...
The lightning tech has absolutely made this build a MONSTER! The glass cannon has never been more cannon-y. I hadn't yet played with or tested that 37k dmg I posted, I was too tired that night after upgrades/changes. It's been a crazy jump in power...
Took out the Ultimatum boss in under a minute when initially a few days ago it took me way more effort and time to beat him. The damage and effectiveness of the build has hit another level with lightning now being the main focus.
Conductivity instead of Hypothermia, shock tech on Frost Bomb to not only cold expose, but now lightning expose for 8 seconds as well. Ultimatum bosses throughout the 10 run trial get melted in 1-2 ice walls. Cast curse/frost bomb, then cast ice walls, dead. Sooo satisfying, lol.
Resistances will be capped when I switch around some affixes and I'm shooting for 4-4.5k mana at one point and the damage will drop down because of it but it will hopefully be a worthwhile trade off.
At the end of the day, glass cannon builds shouldn't focus on anything but damage, so I'm trying to do my best at that while also making sure we're surviving anything besides the one shots that may kill any other character anyway. If you let mobs hit you with this version of the build, you're going to die 100%. Thing is, those mobs don't get to live very long =D.
Stay mobile, cast ahead of you and you should literally never die to anything but 1 shot mechanics.

Wow, very interesting and exciting changes! Can’t wait to try. I’m convinced though when I see skill trees near my level that I have missed out on passive rewards somewhere, but I can’t find out where. Not sure I can reach all the same nodes.
Edit: just for anyone curious. I did mess around with trying to fit Ghostwrithe into our build. It provides an enormous amount of survivability. If we couple it with the spirit gem that gains us ES, I was reaching up to 10k health. However, this required me to drop CoF and only cast ice wall manually, which I eventually decided went against the core of the build. There IS a unique jewel that can possibly provide spirit, but a spirit roll on it will cost near the price of a mirror. Possible, just not practical. So, I begrudgingly dropped the armor and grim feast skill.

I honestly don't find myself using Mana Tempest much (because you really want to stay mobile), but it is a huge DPS increase (75%~ more lightning dmg). Of course you're still dropping fire walls/sigils on tougher bosses. The 4/7/10 Ultimatum bosses don't require a full combo, it would just be even more overkill with the current damage I have. The only things I've needed to actually fully combo and do it multiple times are the end game bosses.

The skill tree gives you A LOT of mana regen. I only have it on my wand, chest (implicit for Keth Raiment) and Amulet implicit as well. The rest is all given by the skill tree nodes and like I've said before, it doesn't start to feel great until 70-80+. I can spam fireballs @ 2.34 a second and it's like my mana never even moves.
Trust me when I say, if you even get semi decent gear and hit certain breakpoints, you'll be successful and have fun with the build. I'm gonna try to do a better job on my guide to figure out those breakpoints for people so they have something to shoot for.

Thanks for the response! I'm working my way towards some regen nodes which will hopefully fix that. If I'm looking at the right maxroll page your neck is crazy! Having a blast so far.
