To anyone pushing the "BUT ITS EARLY ACCESS!" agenda:

"
the game so far is objectively bad

How so? I can buy that it's subjectively bad, but I wouldn't call it objectively bad. I've played many worse games that I've spent money on.
Trying to turn this into an us-vs-them issue is embarrassing.

I'm sure all of your favorite influencers whine about games nonstop but it's tiring
too many one shot gimmicks and the design choice for ascendency appears to be reviled by the masses.

to circumvent getting 1 shot you need to play for hours on end to either get exp to get a build going (which if you make a mistake you have to farm for hours to undo the error, and/or the dev decides your build is no longer valid with a hot "FIX") or find loot (that doesnt drop) or craft with materials (which dont drop).

1 shot mechanics should exist later to punish a player for failure to keep up with their stats. it shouldnt be present on the first boss. this will drive players away as the bosses later on become bullet hell nonsense and there arent enough items to compensate for it

those are objective facts.
I still dont know why deadeyes, warriors, monks running around 1 shotting everything at mach 10 speed are fine, but builds that were 3x slower and had less damage got literally deleted, funny af
This is a BETA and it's going to be a long one. Anyone who doesn't expect a ton of things to be very different between now and launch day, should tap out or buckle up. EVERYTHING is subject to change.

Balance does NOT mean outright removing whole archetypes from the game.

Have you ever considered that it was not supposed to be an archetype? Maybe GGG wanted it to be used as utility or something else.

There are some simple facts:
- GGG does not owe us an explanation for every single change. We are just not that special.
- Their overall goal is to make a good game.
- They have earned a lot of trust over the years because they kept making PoE 1 better and better. So they have proven to know how it's done.
- Often times players asking for changes, these changes would not fix an underlying problem. GGG is very good in identifying the underlying issue people are actually complaining about and finding their own, better solution to it.

So I would suggest to just let them do their job and accept that things like this happen in early access. Even if you do not want hear this, but that's simply was early access is for.

There was a natural progression right into the CoF Comet build, hence why so many people found it so easily. It looks like it was an intended archetype/build.

I'm fine with changes. I'm not fine with needing to spend all of our gold on gearing just to get to the end game with one build, for that build to get nuked, and now I don't have the gold to respec. "Just go farm more." I literally have 10% or less clear speed than I had before. It was already taking me 5-10 minutes on bosses and 30+ minutes in maps as a Blood Mage Witch... I tried one map after the patch and I really don't want to be the guy that goes "It's unplayable!" But my lord... It's bad. I wasn't fast before, but now I'm just ridiculously slow.

I want to play this game. I want to experience the things it has to offer. That includes the end game and mapping. But it's very hard to experience end game and mapping when the build you spent the last week focusing on and building towards gets gutted. This is on top of already frustrating experiences with gearing/crafting/drops. It's not fun being Lv70+ and you're still wearing Lv40 pieces of gear because you can barely get a piece of gear with more than 2 useful mods for your build...

What most people are saying, is that if you want to do massive sweeping changes like that, THAT'S OKAY... But we've been struggling for gold and gear for the past week and a lot of us just had all of our progress thrown into the trash, and we would just appreciate it that if for Early Access only, Respeccing was much cheaper.

They can make all the changes and balances in the world that they want. That's Fine. But as it currently stands, it's far too much investment to change everything. The fact that it's "easier" to just re-roll a character and play through that marathon of a campaign again than it is for people to struggle against white mobs for hours or days... That's not a healthy sign of things.

Yes, it's Early Access. Yes, things are going to change. Yes, more than 80% of the game still hasn't been added yet. I'm more than willing to give GGG the next 6+ Months of Early Access to iron things out and balance things before a FULL RELEASE... But let us respec for far cheaper than it is currently. It's well over 5,000 gold PER POINT to respec at my level... Is that really too much of an ask, for cheaper respecs?
There are valid points to be made on both sides. Folks just seem less interested in a discussion that doesn't 100% validate them and the feels they have manifesting like finger demons.

Investing time into something just to have it: gutted, bricked, kneecapped, forced to lick windows and roll around like a Carnie on fire without access to Elon's irl infinite Money Glitch is; kinda petty and cruel. There should be compensation. Like Workman's Comp. ESPECIALLY, knowing exactly what this patch was going to do to a number of builds. Counter is; Don't play streamer Meme Builds in early access games. Don't be that personality type that is exploitative and low road by nature. Using the Game Genie in the before times to beat Battletoads and such. It makes you look like a Bum with worse abstract logic than a Lebowski. Just sayin~ I hear and see your suffrage though.

This is coming from an on level warrior that just completed act 1. So I'm still just rolling around like a Carnie on fire.

That is what can happen with changes during early access. That's why it is early access. If you are not willing to accept this, then why are you playing early access. That makes literally 0 sense.
