[Witchhunter]Explosive Shot/Grenade Grenadier, T15 Maps cleared
" Basically yeah, i get some amount of ES to use Ghost Shroud as an aura for some sustain, the other sustain comes from the life on kill support in one of the auras and a decently rolled instant life flask. Mitigation is basically a decent life pool (my current version is sitting at 2.6k) combined with a bunch of armour, evasion and capped resists. Its not the most tanky build and will occasionally fall over to corpse explosions and DD though. I don‘t think I will be able to reach much further than lvl 93 without major changes so be aware of that. |

Regarding the short fuse/optimized damage debate, could be weapon set skill points be used towards that?
I'm currently playing a short fuse kind of tree cause i started playing my char after watching a video from wudijo, who plays on SSF and was playing like that, but i also run explosive shot BC it feels better when dealing with high speed rares and bosses Having short fuse grenades feels generally good for clearing and great if you use gas grenades in one specific situation (burning ground map mod), while It actually takes me some time to down bosses: problem that could be solved by removing some less duration points on the tree to focus on damage maybe? Edit for clarification: am currently LV 88, clearing t15 maps, no Uber boss attempted yet but damage already feels lackluster on map bosses (especially if they roll defensive mods, i play with the +1-2 mods on uniques talent on the atlas tree) with 4L explo grenades as main DMG source and a ~250 phys DMG advanced bombard crossbow Last edited by Cr1ttermaster#5655 on Dec 18, 2024, 7:03:09 AM

I did a bunch of experimentation around all of that and the boss dps never felt quite high enough. In the end I kind of solved the issue by simply being rich enough, I got a 660 DPS xbow, a headhunter, a phys as extra timeless jewel and basically stopped using explosive grenade alltogether.
I would however say that 250 phys dps is quite on the low end, this morning there were 500+ dps bows on the market for around 3 div, the difference is going to be immense, you could drop a dps link for the increased aoe support to offset the loss of a grenade and still come out ahead DPS wise by a long shot. |

I may have missed the note, comment or picture - but what is your sheet DPS with explosive grenades and explosive shot? I’ve done an incredibly similar build and I’m at about 11k with grenades and 7.5k with shot. I’m trying to see if there is something I’m missing to bump this up. Or is that about optimal as I can get it?

" I am currently sitting at 13.6k for explosive shot and 16k for Grenade. Keep in mind however that sheet dps is missing a bunch of important scaling factors (Fire penetration, Immolate Support, Execute Support, multi-explosion, etc) |

" Omg bois, how do you get so much health? I got all armor pieces 80-140 HP and still sit at 1800 |
|
" For me: 120 on boots, 55 on belt, 0 on gloves, 104 on each ring, 216 on chest, 162 on helmet and then 18% increased max life from a high roll xophs blood with life catalysts. Together with lvl 93 and 151 strength that comes out at 2885 life. |

I actually run a similar setup, however, I am finding Iron Reflexes + armor stacking to as high as possible then speccing into Sorcery Ward helps immensely drop dying to elemental mobs in maps. I still have around 44% Phys DR with the reduction from Sorcery Ward. I also run Scavenged Plating with gas grenade to get some more armor when I armor break mobs. It feels pretty tanky & the damage is decent around tier 7-8 maps. Haven't gotten to high end maps yet or really juiced my maps yet because a lot of the encounters I feel are still overtuned (looking at you, Ritual).

The scaling on Iron Reflexes just does not feel great to me, my current setup has 44% armour and 65% evasion post Sorcery Ward (2800 ward). If i spec into Iron Reflexes that goes to 61% armour, 0% evasion and 2000 ward. And due to the way armour scales it gets much worse against big hits, which are the most dangerous ones.

Having a hard time with defensives. Using the Armor / Ev gear I have barely 14% reduction and only 48% evasion. If I get hit im toast.
I can 1 shot just about everything on maps but if I get bum rushed im just done for :| I guess I need to farm up more currency for fatter gear but it just feels glass cannon to the max. Help save the Kiwis!!
