Totembringer: Campaign to endgame - Huge AOE & 430K+ Boss DPS - (2H + Shield | 2H + 2h)

I'm running a 7+ 2H Mace / Svalin Shield with Turtle Charm ascendancy. With Lv33 totem, It's doing decent damage while Svalin with 55% block rate, I won't even get touched 80% of the time + life regen to help regen the life costs.

I'll give Svalin a try, been putting it off because I'll have to rebalance my stats.
Im around level 45-50, I got a Hrimnors Hammer and I have 2 2H maces that both rolled +2 melee skills.

How long should I run Hrimnors + Shield ditching Hrimnors and using a +2 melee skills mace?

Build does HUGE damage, but even with capped ele resistances and 78% Phys reduction I feel like a glass cannon in Tier 15+ maps.

The general vibe I'm getting is that's a common problem for all Life/Armor based builds, but that's kind of a showstopper for the pinnacle encounters. I managed Zarohk, the Temporal, but only because his damage is so anemic.

Speaking of which, sustain is a big issue. I could afford gear with higher + skills, but at level 33 totems I don't have the sustain. Putting out 3 totems is 1/3 of the life bar and I spent the final 80% of the Zarohk fight dodging bullet hell with the Time of Need sustaining a single totem after the flasks ran out.

Open to any tips/tricks, but I've already specced out of damage nodes towards survival compared to the OP's guide.

OP and I have been developing our builds in parallel since launch. Much respect to him for work he has done. I offer some alternate ideas for solving both sustain and tankiness: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3636574

I've been very much enjoying this build and have been tinkering with it as I level up. I tend to play in an extremely reckless manner and always had mana issues so I grabbed Blood magic and the gem slot with it before getting extra totems.

I think the best version of this build is a weapon swap version that boosts your totem with snap shotting for 2H dual wield, with skill effect duration, enough totem life so they survive and anything else that snapshots. Then all your points on your shield / 1h are just in defenses, max resists, block chance, and so on. The playstyle of swap, drop totems, then get your shield out could give the best of both worlds, damage and defenses.

That said I'll leave maintaining the build to you, I don't have the time or energy right now and I'm struggling to play with whatever little spare time I have. The love of my life and path of exile partner slaughterganggg#3880 passed away last week. We played all of settlers together and she rekindled my love for the game. She has been there with me playing POE2 since it came out on release day and like the rest of my life.. it feels empty without her. I hope I get to a place I can play again and think of her with joy and love, but for now it feels impossible.

Thanks to everyone who followed the build, I hope you continue to enjoy it and I think it will probably be among the best cheap builds to do endgame content unless some kind of nerf happens. Don't forget to cherish your loved ones, they can be gone in a blink of an eye.

RIP the totem build...the patch destroyed the totems..they dont attack anymore...was playing some t15 maps and as soon a monster is nearby or even attacking it, it is not doing anything ... was last in spider woods. 20 small spiders..normal monsters...totems would not attack...
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss OP.

My condolences, and thank you for the work you put into helping the community with these guides.
