Tier Mod

What do you think about the option to change the tier preview of a mod with an item to the "PoE 1" style?
PoE 1 was more transparent because we were aiming for Tier 1 mod, and here it was more difficult to figure out which Tier mod is the best in a given field.

Definitely agree with this. It's much more intuitive. If you get a T1 mode you know it's a good mod. Like this for instance you get a T9 life mode, you need to look up in the db to see if it's good and how many more better mod there is.

Agreed.
Yep hopefully they change it back to poe1 style
I 100% wholeheartedly agree.

I hope they will change it to PoE1 style.

With PoE1 you immediatly identify something as good if you see several T1 mods.

Now you see a T7, T4, T6 item and wonder if that are good rolls, bad rolls or something in the middle.
I heard some people claim to know that GGG changed it to be able to more easily add mod Tiers.

I wonder why people claim this, as it was not statet anywhere to my knowledge.

Also this would be easily circumvented by using the following Formula:

Shown Tier = (ActualInternalTier - InternalTierRange)+1

So if you have a now Tier 8 mod of an affix with 8 mod tiers it would show as 1.

If GGG later adds a mod tier internally it would show as 2, as its degraded to beeing the second best.
Definitely Tier 1 should be the best in a game where different affixes have different amounts of tiers.

Agree 100%. Flipping the tier system around makes no sens to me at all. It's especially confusing because different bases and affixes can have different max tiers.

If tier 1 is best, you always know that you have the best mod without having to consult a wiki.

They should definitely revert to the POE1 convention imo. Makes crafting and gear value way more intuitive.
I would agree, having the tiers that are the highest value be t1 makes it much more clear for the user.

At a minimum I would greatly appreciate having a setting or something "Use legacy tier numbering" just to switch it, so that if the purpose of this was to make tiered loot more obvious for what it does to new players. The option can be disabled by default, so that what smart loot tiers do is obvious to the new players, but then be able to turn it around to see what is actually the best tier of a mod.

A user story for this could be "As a player who ids lots of rares, I would like the option to have the best tier of a mod be T1, so that I don't have to leave the game to know if the stat rolled with the best tier"
