WEAPON SET POINTS GGG HOW DO WE FULLY USE THEM?
Ok so I think the answer to the OP's question is that weapon set points give you the ability to split the function of a single skill point. Instead of having one skill point effect both sets you can choose two nodes that will provide two different benefits utilizing your other set.

AGAIN this is my point i understand "picking specific nodes" for weapons but my Question is WHY then you can just have the nodes for both weapons with ZERO downside if you choose some nodes and put them as weapon slot 1 then you are halfing stuff for weapon set 2 as they wont benefit from the nodes
its a pointless addition unless these "weapon set points" are EXTRA POINTS to use outside of the normal passives that are weapon set bound as it stands the whole "option" is pointless because if i have a total of 100 normal passive points there is no way im going to use 100 and then allocate 20 of them to 1 weapon so my damage which as it stands with GGG nerfing things is already in the bin, so why am i going to increase that trash damage by spreading it across 2 weapons lol Last edited by WarhawkOfficial#9280 on Dec 12, 2024, 2:00:08 PM

" I'm just now getting a grip on this as well so bear with me. If I understand it correctly it's like this. Option 1. You use the weapon set point as one point that works for both weapons. This is self explanatory. Option 2. You can instead split that single point into two points, one for each weapon set. The advantage to doing this is taking advantage of two nodes for your build instead of one. For example you will get the fire damage your build needs for its main weapon but now you can also add cold damage for your off hand which uses a different skill and needs cold damage. Is everything I said accurate and does it make sense? |
|
ok so here it is as simple as possible
you get 100 points (example) for you skill tree for everything you can use 80 points on defences, mana, skill effect etc etc 20 points on damage for you 2 weapon which is global OR 80 points on (see above) and 10 points on cold JUST for 1 weapon and lightning for weapon 2 (exmple) BUT the 20 point global would benefit BOTH WEAPONS equally or spitting means only 10 points worth of damage to weapon 1 and 10 points worth of damage to weapon 2 so over all you will do less damage SO like i said the "weapons points" are pointless UNLESS the weapon points are SEPERATE and EXTRA points to use out side of the normal passives like JOHNATHAN said it was going to work in a live stream but it doesnt work like he said it would thats why i asked if there was a different way to use them or was it a bug |

" That can't be how it works or you are right it would be pointless. The 20 points is not being split up into 10 for one weapon and 10 for the other. It's now 20 points for EACH weapon. The 20 points is now 40 points being split. |
|
" Youre trolling right? |
|
" Naw it makes no sense to me either. |
|
" No, this is correct. It's one point split into two. Example from my current build - Standard points: all travel + defense nodes - Set 1: damage nodes - Set 2: curses nodes All my damage skills are bound to weapon 1. My curse skill is bound to weapon 2. When I use a damage skill (weapon 1) I do not need the curse points so investing in these would be a waste. When I am casting the curse (weapon 2) I do not need the damage, for the same reason. In this way I have the best of both worlds all the time without needing the extra passive points. Also, many of the "weapon set points" given to me during the campaign I have chosen not to split as they are for travel or defense and therefore I always want them no matter if I am using weapon 1 or 2. |

When you allocate a passive for a weapon set, like, weapon set 1.
You then get to use 1 point for weapon set 2 for free. So essentially you get two points for the price of one, depending on your build. |

" This is what I figured. |
