put frost wall + fortress around boss 3x, drop 2x frost bomb (second wind) then run. once he's frozen hit him with comet or other high DPS skills.
when the frost walls explode around the boss it does mega damage compared to just bomb alone.
also use the trade site to get a +2 cold skills wand. then put on a high block chance shield.
Do you not need to be level 41 to equip comet?

I may be the worst gamer in the history of games, but I have been so stuck on the 2nd act boss, that I am considering just not playing poe2 anymore (I cannot continue the campaign honestly).
I am playing a lvl 38 cold sorc. I have pump my lightning resistance to cap it (the yellow lightning do no damage to me). However, I have only made it to phase 2 once. All my other tries I have run out of red flasks, and not even a fourth of his life was missing.
My approach is to circle him, drop Hypothermia, and frost bombs. I dodge his spears, and I shoot frost bolts at him to freeze him when I can. But his life pool is HUGE, and even if I manage to avoid most of his attacks, I get hit every now and then, specially when he calls his minions during the sand storm (I cannot kill them fast enough that they don't hit me).
I am so frustrated. I have not been that frustrated while playing, and I love all the Dark Souls games (my favourite games). This is just so weird :(
It’s a tough fight. I beat him by dropping flame walls on him and focusing on avoiding his attacks and only forcing other damage through when it was safe to. Energy shield is probably the main thing I care about when gearing (I don’t think my lightning resistance was anything). My strategy with energy shield characters is “don’t get hit, and if you do get hit, don’t get hit again anytime soon”.

Well.. Killed him at first try on my first char (Monk LV 35, specced mostly Ice)
I thought Act 2 was easier than act 1 tbh. I did check some videos before to check his well telgraphed attacks. I was far from max resists (avg 30%) I had pretty good gear(A very good unique staff) and could get him frozen quite easy with my build.
Havnt played sorc yet so dont have any good advise exept play wasd so you can strafe more easily.
Looks like you are doing something wrong here at your lv?

I'd say the only issue with that fight is the massive health bar. It just drags on and tests your patience and concentration. A lot of the bosses have like 30-40% more health than they should have imo.
....it's a boss.

sorry, the rest of the playerbase is with you, people that have reached it to maps is less than 4% of the playerbase.
Game issue, not you.

Just go to poe market and buy a better weapon and some lightning res both for 1ex each or less. Stop playing ssf like its day 1 or 2 of a league.
