Increased maximum energy shield nodes + Eldritch Battery not working

I have some Inc max energy shield nodes unlocked and i noticed my mana was not increasing when i had Eldritch Battery

Can also confirm Energy Shield nodes do not increase mana when Eldritch Battery is allocated.

Converted stats aren't scaled from the original resource. This works the same with damage element conversion or damage added as type. Dreamcore described some of these behaviors before the game was released, being part of the double edge of the node, and to avoid absurd scaling (e.g. getting a large % mana and large % ES combo node giving too much power, or multiplicative scaling, etc.)

Oh wow. I didn't realize this. This seems so unintuitive, and makes EB so much less appealing. So does it only take into account flat ES from gear? I get not wanting to let it get out of control, but it just doesn't make much sense from a logic perspective.

Would be nice if conversion stats and Keystones etc., would explicitly state this in tooltips.

It makes sense from a balance perspective though. Just don't grab a bunch of % ES, and stick to % mana on tree, etc.

Not a bug. If you view the Eldritch Battery node in the passive skill tree and hover over the word "convert" it clearly states that the conversion only applies to your base ES. It means that it converts ALL of your base ES. That doesn't stop items from converting life to energy shield after the fact, which is what happens in this case.

So order of operations as intended is:

1. Base ES is converted to mana by Eldritch Battery
2. Ghostwrithe or Atziri's Disdain convert life to ES
3. Everlasting Gaze adds ES based on base mana
4. Percentage increases from skill nodes are then applied to both ES and mana

These are intended interactions which many people have mistakenly interpreted as a bug because they haven't read the "convert" tooltip on the Eldritch Battery node.
