0.1.0c Hotfix 1
" If you think it was unnecessary, you aren't aware of the build that actually caused this to happen. Nobody cares about looping SRS into itself. This was done for the build that was using necromantic talisman and rapid fire triggering comets, breaking the servers in half. Last edited by FilthyMonkey#0591 on Dec 10, 2024, 4:51:57 PM

" AH yes, nerf the skills so that it nerfs builds that don't even cause the issue instead of fixing the issue itself |

Meh, that's alright. That's par for the course to shift players to trying a different approach for minions. There's no reason to expect that new minions/skill gems and future balance passes/redesigns for current minions won't follow changes like this, especially considering we're just days into the EA.
Personally I didn't even feel like the automation was necessary and stopped using it before the change. I just throw up 2 fire walls which will still max my srs count so nothing changes on that side of things. The main issue was probably non-minion builds automating it especially considering how effective they are. |

For those who haven't figured it out yet or are happy about this news, this is the beginning.
Tomorrow your build will be nerfed to the point where it's unbearable to play. You'll make another one, spend another 20 hours on the story, but soon it will be nerfed too. But everyone will suffer and suffer again and again until PoE 2 becomes the perfect game where everyone hits the boss with a basic attack. Maybe we should just remove all support gems from the game, forbid players from making interesting builds, and just pressing 10 buttons in 0 link? Wait...! |

This change legit sucks. If it was too good, nerf the dmg or make it more difficult to achieve the loop, don't delete the build :/

Minion in PoE 2 are much like minions on D4 at launch.
They did a base damage nerf so minions do little damage by themselves, you need active play style to work. But if you play as a caster you would have same active play style with better damage. In d4 they need 3 leagues before make minions shine. I guess will take a lot of time to ramp up minions on PoE 2 PoE 2 its a diferent game? Sure it is. But melee its similar with a harder content. Spellcaster are similar in a harder content. I dont see why they needed to overwaul the minion playstile. The loop idea was very very fun. And the damage was subpar, just funnier to play. A sad change. |

Big L on the SRS nerf.
it's not like it did some game-breaking thing, we want a minion build that does not force us to spam the SRS key. All we wanted was some minions to attack for us. This is a bad move. Also, it's sad that the gear I made using all my currency is bricked now, and I don't want to start a new character and farm currency again. not fun allowed in POE2 I guess. Thanks... " Then make it so there's a heavy penalty to player damage while using it. Make it contingent on another interaction/gem/etc. It's just wild to go and make Cast on Minion Death pretty much useless. It's just annoying - you can't use infernal legion/minion instability on multiple minions now, and even if I hunt down every Minion Revive speed increase, the way Minion Revive works means a minion sacrificing build will always be janky as hell with Skeletons. Unless they implement a unique or whatever down the line... but I'm just trying to work with what we have now, none of which is very inspiring. Last edited by evinta#2047 on Dec 10, 2024, 6:18:48 PM

Live nerfing stuff, unless it is an actual bugged thing, shouldn't exist. There should be fair warning and everyone should get a free respec, if you are just going to brick builds in the middle of a map... I wasn't even playing this, but it just seems like an insane way to handle balance. People are spending dozens of hours to make a functioning build and get it to maps, then they spend a ton of currency for the items they need, and you literally make it all useless in the middle of a map. I don't get how you think this is ok, even when it's early access...

" That's not happening though. The streamers I watch are all saying the same thing, the game has serious issues that need to be fixed. Loot, crafting, movement, etc. Their builds are being broken, just like the rest of us. |
