Legacy of the Vaal - Can't place Small Stone Core in Altar

In the Legacy of the Vaal quest in Act 3, after picking up the small soul core, I can not place it in the stone altar. Others have this same issue, posting this for visibility as it is softlocking characters.

UPDATE: I was just patient (as i should have been), came back to reset quest after 10 minutes of closing the game, picked up stone without starting the quest and was able to place it in the alter.

Exactly the same bug.
Thank you sir for posting the update. Waiting to reset the map and carrying the stone to the Altar without activating the quest helped. |

Same issue, relaunched the map by holding ctrl and clicking on the Machinarium waypoint. Did not Summon Alva and went to find the Core. Placed in the altar again without summoning Alva. Door opened.

my issue is, i reset map. door already opened spawn alva... went to find 3 cores, cleared the entire map and still cant progress into other map cause it keeps telling me to place the soul core to open door but door is already opened..

тоже так же как и многих этот квест словил баг. выключил игру на 10 минут. потом повторно зашел. не вбрал квест а сначала нашёл ядро и вставил без проблем
