I want to build a lighting gemling mercenary
Ball lightning + lightning warp (with magnified area and persistence to prolongue shocked ground) really works well as sources of shock, much better that voltaxic grenade. I even switched to just this combo and shock burst rounds for clear. Bosses melt also - finishing act 6 right now
A bit clunky gameplay since we are teleporting to ball projectiles and usually that means that you go right inside mob pack, and tight areas are harder since as the ball hits wall it disssapears. Maybe slower projectiles will help in these areas, however in open locations they slow you down. I'm only in A3 but I've been using Voltaic Mark on an enemy that's ready to cull, then lightning warp to kill. The nova has 200% chance to generate shock, so I support that with an increased AoE gem.

and what support gems do you use for shocking burst rounds and galvanic shards?
