Trials of ascendency are now worse POE2

I am enjoying PoE 1 soooo much more after dealing with PoE 2 for a few days.

Right now the order from good to worst is
POE 1 - D2 - Grim Dawn - Diablo 4 - Diablo 3 - PoE 2
Trial of Sekhema is just not fun, even as a minion witch.
I try to stay as far away as possible and not get hit, but in the third trial the honour loss just seems to be way bigger on a single hit.

I can do the first two trials and still have max honour, i get to the third and one hit makes me lose half of my honour, from a devourer, at the first challenge ...

I also can't do ultimatum because every inscribed ultimatum i find above lvl60 or even 70 tells me i won't be getting points.

I just don't wanna attempt it anymore either, waste of time

Perfectly true... the first two floors can be facerolled and the third is just insane with all that slow bs. Feels like they could have left the first two floors out entirely (which still cost u like 30 minutes without any challenge) and the third one would still be unbeatable. Oo

Trials are horrible and they aren't fun.

The 4th ascendancy trial bosses were released to early access despite inadequate, if any, playtesting. Early access seems to just mean QA cost savings these days.

-The chaos trial final bird boss tornado does obscene damage, is far too large, the visual takes up too much space and blocks up far too much of the entire screen between camera and player (ongoing issue throughout this game's overall environment), and is nearly impossible to manage with ring of doom.

-Zarokh disappears after phase 1 and never comes back

I couldnt imagine doing rooms 21-40 on Sekhema with a warrior or other melee class- the honor system in general feels horrible. On one hand it teaches good gameplay with forcing players to try avoiding every single attack, but it's very obviously, grossly biased towards ranged classes and within the confines of the trial it's too punishing. A minion witch can basically walk through the entire honor trial, broken bosses excluded, without a care in the world. Meanwhile for everyone else it's a sweatfest or barely possible before RNG affixes come into play.

The RNG confetti of affixes is a tired trope in ARPGs because we all know how broken certain ones can be when stacked in different situations. Players shouldn't be forced to have RNG have such a massive sway in their odds of winning- this is an ARPG not DND. This is especially stupid in a situation where you get 1 life or have to farm another super low odds drop to start over. If I wanted that kind of abuse I'd hire a dom.

I won't be wasting my time doing anymore of these busted trials until they are balanced and bugs fixed- what a frustrating, unfun waste of time they have been.
For 4th ascendancy let us only fight either the time guy or the trial master, without any obstacles in the way. The RNG inside Sanctum and Ultimatum is too punishing. Let the bosses have their one-hit-mechanics but do not let us go all the way over and over and over again if there is bad rng or 1 mistake.

I don't like the trials of sekhema either. I never played sanctum in poe1 beside testing the mechanic like twice and i found it boring.

I really do not think that a rougelite system belong as a mandatory way for progression in a ARPG game. I am perfectly fine with having this as a side content tho.

Removing the honor while doing ascendancy is one way of making it better. This solution would make it more like lab in poe1.
And the more i think about this i prefer this way. The honor system does not need to go for non ascendancy gameplay.

Another way is to let us choose what trial to do. Not just by waiting until we get to the next one but from the Trial site you can choose what trial to do. The difficulty would be tuned for your level and ascendancy set.

I mean the feedback is honestly spot on. I consider myself an elite player and I am struggling HEAVILY on the 4th ascendency with my titan. He also has over 4500HP and over max resistances with passives. I mean sometime the bosses just one shot me and that's when I believe I get PERFECT choices for 10 rounds for my class AND play perfectly.

There is no reason that the 4th ascendency should be harder than anything I ever encountered in Elder Ring or Dark Souls. At least those encounters were fun.

This is a GREAT game but if it isn't addressed, players are going to leave in droves.

I would be interested to know what % of players have completed it and then compare it to the hardest boss in any other game of all time and I bet it's lower.

I am really enjoying the game, Monk, and melee…besides this part of the game. Until this point, I had max 6 deaths on Bosses and most of the time 2-3. 2 on act 1 final boss.
Honor, and the whole trial is garbage. It took me 8 tries to even make it to the Boss. Had 700ish out of 900 honour left, lagged like heck and that was that. No restart, no progression save. 6 tries later right before boss, reward was double remaining honor and definitely didn’t get it when awarded at beacon so 400/900 honor… die to boss.4 tries later back at boss250/900 honor, but doing well and got him to about 30% rubber band latency-dead again.

I really wish you could just save after every round, or at least right before boss. Is there a certain stat I need to stack? Something else I am missing? Why do I always have so much water and nothing to do with it?

get honor resistance basically made this trial a breeze
