Honor Trial system is so terrible, tedious, unfun, makes me regret my whaling & time in POE1/2

It is frankly insufferable. It makes me want to never play again. If this gatekeeps progression, I am done. It just ruins the game for me.

Melee already has the hardest time in the game with EVERY other mob dropping some BS ground effect, on death, on hit, on your face, so you constantly have to stop attacking and move out of it. Then wait for it to disappear so you can walk down the path or even pick up the loot.

Then here we are Honor System with pools of death as melee, is frankly the worst moronic mechanic I can't even begin to describe how terrible it is.

The system is great!

PoE was never supposed to be a supa easy festival like diablo 4.

Also, you can run a second type trial to get your ascendency.

No one here is saying it should be easy, but honor system isn't a skill based system with melee vs range the mechanic is grossly one sided and tedious.

Stop using ad hominems with D4 references to defend a poorly designed aspect of this game.

I disagree with a lot of the complaints about the game, but I completely agree that this “honor” stuff is nonsense. Ascendancy trials should not be no-hit runs.

If I live, I win.
If I die, I lose.

This would simply be better.

Just tried it again, had a room that I needed to clear all rares,
first rare created pools of "Damage" around it anytime I hit it as melee

awesome fun

Fully agree. The honor system is horrible.

Completely agree. I just logged out after failing boss fight due to honor. None of my time will be spent doing that. Hopefully they fix it.

Difficulty has very little to do with it; whether or not you can clear one of the trials depends not on your skill or game sense but whether or not you get a minor Affliction that bricks your run. The RNG nature of both sanctum and ultimatum completely removes any sense of accomplishment from ascension; it just feels like you've gotten lucky. Labs was both more interesting and more rewarding.

Yep I agree with OP its horrible probably the thing I dislike most about the game. The rest of the game I love.

This is a very common trend among those who defend POE2 systems.
