Poor graphic quality, input lag and game pause PS5
I am on PS5 NA, EA.
The graphics look grainy and not optimized for PS5. Even after adjusting some settings it looks bad. There is some character movement input lag. It’s significant. And lastly, the game keeps randomly pausing every few seconds making it unplayable. Doesn’t seem to happen when in a settlement. Only in combat areas. I’ve close and relaunched the game, I’ve swapped gamepads, I’ve disconnected other devises (external hard drive and keyboard) and now, I am reinstalling the entire game. If anyone has a solution to that it would at least make the game playable. Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 5:26:10 AM

You’re not experiencing a different level of service compared to others. Servers need to be regularly monitored and checked.

I have the same issue while playing on my ps5, the lag and freezes make the game unplayable, on PC version is smooth no problem there, so I guess it might be related to ps5 servers, not sure if GGG can do something there, hopefully they can fix it.
Thanks GGG for the amazing job done, keep it up :) |

I love the game, but I do agree that PS5 is on the grainy side.
Does GGG have recommended graphics settings or is this mainly associated with load balancing the servers and beta? Last edited by bigbad614#1364 on Dec 7, 2024, 8:07:39 AM

On ps5 @1080p. Graphics look fine to me. Input lag is real though…

It's straight up ugly on Ps5 (playing on a 4k 65" Oled). It's hellofa muddy/grainy and the aliasing is weird (no matter hich option. FSR seems best) and it looks washed out and the details are hard to see. Not. Good. Loved PoE1 so I hope this will be touched up significantly.

Everyone with input lag needs to make sure they are setting their "Gateway" in the Game settings (From the login screen, not while in game) from default to the gateway that is located closest to them geographically. The Auto option is currently picking some real bad gateways for people which is whats causing the input lag.

So I changed graphic settings to FSR and picked Ultra Performance. I also upped the sharpness some. It’s not great but it looks a little better. The biggest issue I am having appears to be Network spikes according to the in-game information. It will go from 1-200+ rapidly which coincides with the “Game Paused” issue I am still having. I had it set to auto, then switched to the Washington DC gateway and still had the issue. I’m in the Midwest US and the only closest is DC or Texas. Since DC failed. I’ll try the Texas one and see if it’s better.
Crazy that this is even an issue. My ISP connection is solid. I’ve even tested it, reset everything and tested again. |
