POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

What actually really helped me so far:
- Uncheck 1–2 processors in the affinity section of the task manager - Turn off multithreading every time you do a map transition and then turn it on again No freezes and crashes since then. Maybe just turn off multithreading is good enough. But with not all cores involved, your PC won't freeze completely. Last edited by Thurifer#4345 on Dec 12, 2024, 10:23:23 AM

I started having this problem in POE1 after Nvidia switched their tool to the new dedicated app that launched a few months ago.
Currently, when I start my PC, I immediately exit this app before opening POE 1 or POE 2 and I have had (almost) no system freezes afterwards. Hope this helps some of you. |

Anecdotal, but when I close out wallpaper engine and Razer synapse, I have not had a crash during play. I will update if this proves to be false.

I did ALL the recommendations, but it still kept crashing.

I solved it here, the problems started for me after windows 2 update from the 9th of December.
It was impossible to play because with each load the loading screen crashed which forced me to either restart the pc or restart the game (When I could use the pc). The solution was to remove the updates by December 9th, after which the game returned 100% to normal. The solution was to uninstall the windows updates that were released after December 9th and blocked the updates until January of next year, this should give time for GGG to fix this bug generated by these updates. |

" This might actually done it for me, I couldn't go through one loading screen without it freezing and having to force reboot in act 3. I disabled SMT which is the equivalent for Hyperthreading in AMD cards and was able to get through all of act 3 without any hiccups, amazing. Hopefully it wasn't just a fluke. |

Yet people keep saying how to fix this. The only fix will come from GGG. You're delaying or temporary "fixing" it but eventually will happen again. Until they don't fully work on it, we'll be having these freezes/crashes all the time.
