So the new Nvidia driver is out, any one tried with 572.16 ?

As i did see talks of the nvidia driver will be fixing the issue on nvidia cards.

There are other crashes related to nvidia. I suppose it fixes those. This issue is probably not related to Nvidia at all since AMD users also freeze. This is cpu related most likely.

It's not, people on my group are freezing with intels...
I was running a map just now and one by one people in my group were going "Offline" then I got hit with a CTD.

Happened in two straight maps I was just in.

The good news it was just a CTD and my PC stayed running.

The game ran better for me before today's Nvidia patch.

Probably going to roll back now.

/SIGH

POE2 is the only game I have where I have to keep my system OUTDATED to make it run.
Windows 11 23H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD
ok guys i found a solution for the hard resets. i have a 4080 rtx and amd 7800x3d.and here are my settings for driver game and win11 https://imgur.com/a/Kqtlmag. i have testet it with the new driver 572.16.
I've been having crashes like completely random while playing, no matter where it is, a new map, trials, ultimatums, ziggurat, act 1 just standing there doing nothing.

What I'm not having is crashes on loading screens which seems to be the majority of cases.

And the way my computer crashes is like, i get a full black screen, i can still hear the games music but i cannot the mouse pointer, alt + tab does not work, can't pull up the task manager either... and also as i get the black screen all the fans on my case/graphics card/CPU cooler go full throttle.

I have to completely turn off my PC pushing the power button for a few secs and then turn it back on.

This happens at random intervals, sometimes i play for 3 hours no crash, sometimes it takes 5 to 10 min to crash... I've lost so many ultimatums because of this... and I'm scared the game is going to fry my computer.

I'm running an AMD RX 7800 XT graphics card, a AMD 9800X3D and 32BG Ram 6000MHz

Difficult to resolve? This problem can be solved (circumvented) in an elementary way, and all the tools to circumvent it are already in the game. All you need is a few lines of code, but apparently GGG are too busy to pay attention to such “little things”.

That's as far as “workarounds” that would allow the vast majority to play the game in peace.

As for fully solving a problem, there is no problem that can take 2+ months to find a solution, if any attention is paid to finding a solution, given that we clearly know how and when it occurs.

If you really believe that then clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

For me, as well as a dozen of my friends and acquaintances, and many others, disabling multithreading solves the problem 100%. The option to enable and disable multithreading is present in the game and they don't need to write it from scratch. Even a monkey can handle the code to enable and disable it before and after loading. Is it that hard? It's just an incredibly impossible task. Let's give them another half a year to realize it.

By doing this they can dig into their code for as long as they want to find the source of the problem, but people will be able to play the game they paid for normally.

But you said your solution resolves the problem and yet there are multiple people who have reported the hard crashing issue with multithreading disabled as that didnt fix the issue for them like it did for you........ can you see just by your very own response how daft you are acting? You have a solution that works for you at present and you expect the devs to implement the solution that works for you because it works for you but what about those other people who are hard crashing even with multithreading disabled?

It gets so boring listening to these "tech experts", there are numerous problems with software that never get fixed but as I said previously, lets not turn this thread into a childish tantrum because we cant play a game this issue is affecting alot of different people in alot of different ways that all result in hard crashes, it clearly isnt an easy fix despite what you as a tech expert who could train a monkey to fix this problem claim.

2 months of a bare bones game still in active development and people cant help but lose their minds getting confused thinking they are playing are a fully released and tested product (hint thats the part you signed up for by paying for an early access)
This issue is so insanely frustrating. I encountered this freeze about 6 times this evening over a couple hours, and lost an Iron Citadel and multiple T16 maps along with all the time spent restarting my PC.

I did not have this happen once until just recently (1 day ago, 1/29). Now, I encounter it about every other map that loads, none of the suggestions have helped.

Nah, I signed for an incomplete game that is probably bug ridden and all, sure.
But I signed up to PLAY the game, not to have useless data on my SSD for over a month with no updates from the devs on how things are going, nor did I sign up for it to crash my OS and hard reset my machine.

For real, in all my gaming years I have never seen a game do this, early access or not, at most I've seen this happening due to faulty hardware or trying to play some graphics intensive game that my machine clearly couldn't run, not something that I've been running fine for days before it just decided to start crashing on loadings.

As hard as this bug might be to fix, the whole lack of communication over this long of a time is inexcusable, even more so when they decided to charge for this early access.

In the past this happened a few times, but fine in general. Today it was the worst. 4 crashes over a few hours during the loading screen, having to hard-reboot the PC each time. Makes the game unplayable

Wondering if it could be related to the lastest updates to Windows 11 (Installed 2025-01 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems today) and NVidia drivers (566.36)
