Xbox Series S Performance

GGG isn't silent, they just probably dont understand, like me, why some people have no issues and others have nothing but issues.

I play on and stream it from a Series S with absolutely no performance issues (aside from the new stash crash issue) whatsoever.

So I wouldn't be to hard on them, because I think a certain amount of the issue isn't actually GGG... just saying.

Some skills cause massive problem for example 2x flame wall + minions can drop fps to ~22 with lowest possible settings bilinear+low resolution and every flame wall grab 5+ fps(NIS and FSR provide better visuals, but the minimum and average FPS are also lower).

I've played a minion witch with flame wall+cascade+srs and 12 minions and have no issues even on juiced t15 with breach and delirium.

I play mostly a double herald acolyte monk with ele DMG so I'm constantly proccing heralds and blowing up the screen with ice and lightning, also no issues even with breach and delirium.

I've played a poison pathfinder and covered the screen in green particles in breach and delirium, also no issues.

I play on a Series S and have only turned off GI in the settings - so idk what you mean.

It's not GGGs fault, and I'm also not a fan boy, just not a serial fault finder that rides the crap on everything bandwagon.

I prefer reality to conformity.

I've also done all of the above in couch co op with that plus my wife's character doing much of the same - also no graphical or performance issues.

So all I'm saying is, maybe there is more to the story than GGG just being a crap company and maybe optimize your console rather than just flip a few settings in the game.

I have my doubts... Simply because I can take a screenshot right now showing that even in Hideout, three walls of fire cause a significant FPS drop. Before the first fixes (the firmware update from Microsoft), I saw 10 FPS when opening a Breach. Now, with the game's own fixes, FPS drops aren't as catastrophic, but it's still easy to find conditions where it falls below 25 FPS on a T15 map.

And once again, this is with the most basic upscaler at the lowest resolution.

A console is standardized hardware and an operating system that the user cannot modify. If there is no overheating or other hardware damage, the game will deliver identical performance down to the frame on all released devices.

Define “no issues”. I’m an infernalist that has done all the pinnacles, and I switched to pc at the T15-18 mark because it was impossible to play. The fps holds on a series x now, sure, and didn’t used to on breach especially. Ritual actually was the worst offender, with dips to 15fps on a 120hz tv. But we’re still talking 24-40 fps at best in maps, 80 alone in the hideout. On pc I only have to worry about a handful of maps having poor performance due to shader issues that have existed since PoE1. Otherwise 60 is the lowest number I see, usually it’s well over 100.

The game looks like I’m playing it on a significantly lower resolution as is on xbox. As to GGG, when you say you want “console parity” and yet my Asus Rog (which isn’t top of the line) runs circles around it, optimization is not there.

I will add changing graphics settings appears to have a much more noticeable and instantaneous effect on my pc vs. barely making a difference no matter what I select on console. Same tv, etc etc.

Not hard to find. I'm not here to self promote.

But I am still seeking an explanation as to why many others, myself included, have no issues at all on console, yet others have, what they deem, game breaking graphical and performance issues.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me; unless those that have issues simply call those of us that don't blatant liars, there is something amiss.

And if you're seeking an equivalent experience that PC players have on console, you're actually the problem. It's naive to think they will ever be equal experiences, and honestly a bit entitled to demand it.

I don't expect the feature set or performance I would get out of a high end PC on a series anything, let along hold a studio accountable to provide it.

So then why would you come to a “bug reports” topic or even board for that matter if everything is a-ok for you?

This place solely exists to communicate issues, yet you clicked on the board, and said to yourself “ooh performance issues?! I’m not having any, I’m sure that will be value added discussion”!

If everything ran smoothly on console; I wouldn’t have bought it on pc to begin with. I’d have said “hey guys here is my tv brand/in game settings”.

As to the same experience as on a pc-I’m not the one that first stated that I’d ensure there would be console parity. GGG did.

I came here to report the stash tab crash and then I saw the entire community banding together to crap on the devs in their own forum... and I thought to myself, maybe these spoiled brats need to see that not everyone agrees with them and they aren't the center of the known universe.

Come to find out, it is still true that stupid people never lose arguments.
