Stop using twitch too - that platform deserves to diaf.

Pretty sure this is already underway with the new Ad revenue changes.

@OP thanks for throwing out some names.

I am new, I played POE but not for really long, more just to check it out before Diablo 4 launched. I did enjoy it though, the systems in the game were well thought out.

I like to make my own builds and don't really watch other people playing video games I can play myself. Not really sure I am the community type either. Are there any sites that give good background info like Damage calculations, and other inherent knowledge? I was planning to look at MaxRoll for that stuff...but if there is one specifically for POE it would be good to have that info. Thanks.

Well I hope your experience with PoE2 is a good one. As far as sites Maxroll will have some good guides on it, typically geared more for league starts. Im sure with PoE2 launch there will be some good information on there.

Also be sure to use the PoEWiki.net site and avoid the fandom one. The Wiki is officially backed by GGG and has much better resources and accurate information. Youtube is also a really good place for information and something I use a lot, as the content creators will typically link any resources they use in the description.

Enjoy the launch and dont be afraid to ask if you have any questions!

Anyone coming into PoE2 for the first time just a couple things that could help your experience.

And last as someone with prob 15-16k hours in PoE I can tell you it's worth the investment so just enjoy your time in the game. It's an amazing experience and the most rewarding in gaming at the moment in my opinion.

Y'all be good.

Any recommended guilds to join? I am just a casual, looking to pick some stuff from Guild stashes if I need to. :D

This is one area that I don't have a lot of expertise in. I typically play SSF, so don't have much experience with guilds. I know a lot of people use them and my best advice would be to look on the forums, if you're not on Twitch or Discord.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

c'mon ...

no "benign" elitism, almost no posturing
some neat pointers
making people aware of "the camps"
obvious fun comes first attitude

i'd say that was one of the least condecendeing and socially awkward posts addressing new players ive seen here

actually kinda helpful and insightful

No worries, just found one in discord. Thanks!
I think most adult human beings know themselves enough to seek out what they, personally, find fun. Or, at least they should.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I appreciate the feedback. Wasn't trying to rub people the wrong way, just a lot of new players coming in.

Hope you have fun at launch!

I do agree with you with people that are familiar with it, but with PoE2 I think there will be a lot of players trying for the first time that have played other games and enjoy a certain style or community to get involved with. The community here is so diverse that I was just trying to give some guidance.

Hope its fun for you though!

Fair enough.
