" You are too sure that your opinion is right. GGG's team can definitely be certain of whether or not selling stash tabs is crucial to the game's existence. For players to be able to play the game, GGG has to constantly have funds for (at least): - low-latency, high-capacity servers all around the globe, while having them available 24/7 and maintaining their software - a Customer Support team capable of dealing with the problems of all its players - a developer team for dealing with existing bugs - voice actors, artists, graphics designers, etc.. - a developer team for extending the game and adjusting existing mechanics . Players are given the ability to experience the game freely and get an authentic feeling of the game. It is true that, at some point, the 4 provided stash tabs are too few to support further exploring all the content available and its mechanics. The 4 initial stash tabs are enough, though, for comforably finishing the campain and getting a taste of the endgame. By that time, players have invested a big amount of time playing and experiencing the game while not being asked for anything in return. At that point, they have enough experience to safely decide whether or not they would be willing to invest some money and more of their time into deeping deeplier into the game. We cannot have unlimited resources available to us for an unlimited amount of time while being asked for nothing in return. Players that decide that they are interested in the game and would like to invest their time into the game can have more stash tabs by purchasing them, which is an economical investment into the game as well. If something has value for someone, then investing into it is very logical and very realistic. Path of Exile is a game made for many, many, hours of evolving gameplay, so much that if someone is willing to invest their time into it, it's unrealistic to expect it to be 100% free, while investing into it being so much beneficial. Nothing can exist without enough investments into it. I'm thankful to GGG for their focus on not just profits, but deeply caring for its quality and overall shape. Cheers. |
