My strong concern about all the Boss-fights in POE 2

OP

Boss arena is one of the many levers you can pull to make a boss fight better.

If GGG never vary from a small enclosed area they are wasting potential and I personally think they are better than this, GGG have made some masterpiece bosses over the years and sure some are a miss but some are genuinely brilliant too.

So I wouldn't worry.
Yes, some of the bosses are superb.

But if you are forced to experience such a masterpiece in the same place and at the same time of the game process a hundred of times, it will loose a lot of its attraction, to put it mildly.

There were multiple people pointing out that there are already enough bosses outside your primary example, that we haven't seen much, but you ignored them to further argue your point, so i will write what you want to read:

Also every souls game has a boss arena, always, we can clearly see that people hate it ;)

So, if I don't "share your concern", I am so overhyped that I don't see anything? Got it.

I'm not particularly hyped about PoE 2, even though the live stream actually helped a little bit. I will play it and I am looking forward to it, but far from hyped.

I think most boss fights look alright. We do need FIGHTS, and not just an animated model in the middle of the screen that you can DPS down from a far without a thought in the world.

I have TONS of concerns about PoE 2. This isn't one of them.

Hey, this was ment to be ironic and funny, not as an excluding argument.

A lot of poeple are hyped + POE is addictive - in a real sense -, so they the tend to overlook things.
Thats nothing new, happend since ancient times. A hyped brain is a partially blinded brain. Doesnt matter if you are close to date a supermodel (you hope) or waiting to play a really good game (you think). It will be good, sure, it will be very good, most likely.
Do we have to visit the same bosses in the campaign over and over again every new char ever created and in every league...sadly YES. May be they will change it sometimes...

game is out next week anyway. we ll see and it s not sth they re gonna change at last minute.

edit: and from my play of undecember where all bosses are in arena, the worst that can happen is that you faceroll them. not that they are in ahn arena

Every meaningful fight in POE takes place in a limited area. Merveil, Vaal Oversoul, Dominus - obsolete designs where you want to stay as close as possible anyway, Malachai, Kitava, The Brine King, Arakaali, The Sisters, Trinity - especially Brine King, Kitava and Trinity - all this act bosses have limited space arena. Imagine having to learn the mechanics.
Sheesh what kind of game is this?
There's devils on each side of you with bottles in their hands.
You need one more drop of poison and you'll dream of foreign lands.
It does not have anything to do with "learning the mechanics." What are you talking about ?

It is all about doing the same bosses in same environment forcibly (in the campaign for every new created charakter every league) over and over again.

Every new Boss will be new, if you meet it the first time. But after that, you know where it will spawn, when and how.

If you dont know which boss will appear, if you dont know where and in what manner he or she or it will appear, that is something very different.


Some totally unexpected suprise Boss encounters during the campaign and in maps would be a very nice feature and a valueable asset for POE 2.
