Linux support for Poe 2
" Yeah, I also had to switch Vulkan to DX12 in the config file just to launch the game on Nvidia/Wayland. It's kind of a shame because once Vulkan runs it gives much smoother framerates. The Vulkan crashes always happen on startup and on some of my systems in the map loading screens as well. |

I run poe2 on Linux with no issues. Proton just has to have experimental on and you're good.

I've been playing the Steam client on Linux (Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS on AMD/Radeon, specifically) since launch with zero issues, and no special configuration changes needed. Valve has also rated the game as Playable on a Steam Deck, with the main issue being small in-game text that might be hard to read on the Deck's smaller screen. I'd say you should be good to go.

" is proton actually allowed? if im not wrong it's virtualization and is virtualization actually allowed? i really want to be done with windows, i hate it. `Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL `What are divs?` |

" I've been playing PoE on Linux since 2023. No issues. Poe1 ran better than it did on Windows. I've only ever played PoE2 on Ubuntu (Linux) through Steam, again, no issues. I have had 3 system hang-ups while playing with Poe2 since the release of early access and have attributed it to experiencing normal bugs as one would during a beta, not to me using Linux. Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.

Just teated it in cachyOS (Arch) and can confirm it tund really smooth. Did not expected such great performances. Even better fps than in windows.
Only issue i have is that when you run vulkan, it run awesome in windowed or windowed+borderless. When you run fullscreen, then fps drops from 170 to 45 or so... I think that it could be changed in Lact, but anyway need to play in windowed mode, to use overlays. |

Just released https://github.com/pr0d1r2/nixos-poe2
A bootable USB stick NixOS development kit repository. Main benefit is 1GB RAM usage for system and rest is left for the game. Were testing it on my Ryzen 3800x with 32GB of RAM and RTX 3090. Never need Windows machine again. Happy hacking! Have fun! PS: crazy idea - ExileOS ;) |

Cool idea but 4min boot each time you wanna play PoE2 in some kind of linux sandbox just because you hate Windows is a little desperate to me, might as well install Linux for real or have dual boot instead.
