25 Hours FOR 3/6 Acts? PLEASE let there be a way to speed that up on the 50. time...
The campaign is supposed to be dynamic in quests and similar. How much so remains to be seen.
END GAME. What even is that these days? It's supposed to be what you do when all other progression is near complete. Both GGG and this community have some weird concepts related to this. Why would I want progression to end and equally why would I want it to only actually start when I'm at endgame. They're both terrible. You're supposed to blend it together so it doesn't 'feel' like two different games. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Then GGG needs to make campaign feel fun and rewarding. I can't speak for the PoE2 campaign since nobody has played it yet, but all of the enjoyable leagues and mechanics are in the endgame. You won't find Harvest in campaign, nor valuable beasts from Bestiary for example. As far as most players are concerned, any extra time spent in campaign is time wasted not farming currency to fund their build. Nevermind the more obvious things like high level item bases and mods. People have reason to believe that PoE2's campaign will likely suffer the same pitfalls and don't want to feel like they have to slog through it to get into what actually matters. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

" You are simply wrong, irrefutably. The campaign will be fun and rewarding. People have played more campaign than you know. There are league mechanics in campaign. There are rewards tied to encounters which are optional throughout the entire campaign. You will be begging for them when you open your 1st map get wrecked and risk failing your next 3 maps and literally bricking your entire character. You wont be farming currency in PoE 2. Every currency will be raining upon you involved in basic crafting of items. The entire economy you use as a crutch to play the game wont exist in PoE 2. This is completely different from doing the garbage campaign in PoE 1 three times, or doing the 10 act campaign which is really 5 acts twice. Theres going to be a singular story, with bosses who are going to push your sht in, pop it out your mouth, and strangle you. You are going to want every bonus you can get. So much content no longer exists in PoE 2. You wont be farming guardian bases, shaper and uber bases, removed league content bases, etc etc. You wont be farming for mods as most of them now no longer exist in PoE 2. You wont be able to craft the same, the crafting is very different, emphasizing picking up loot, over crafting a base from scratch. There is so much different, so much you are assuming, and so much you are ignoring. None of us will be taking 50 hrs to beat a campaign. 3-5 hrs easily for an average player after playing the acts at least once, and even then you will still be significantly faster than actually new players. Poe 1 campaign can be like 50 hours for new players.
Poe 2 campaign is 25h + less than that for 2nd difficulty. And it is time for new players. so PoE 2 should be shorter than Poe 1. "Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason
is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." |

As an SSF Only player since many Leagues by now, the Campaign is what makes me quit the league each time.
I find a new Weapon, Unique or a combination of a few which sounds so fun as a concept to try out. I do that for 5-8 per League (good fun league that is). I would do many more if the campaign wouldnt waste so much time. Its also really often the case that you need to play the campaign with something different as you plan to play. If we would need 3 Chars 90+, or heck, 95, for us to "skip" 90% of the campaign, I would be a happy camper already. The feeling of a Build not turning out good enough or simply being not fun to play to just find that out AFTER I ran the campaign again feels like.... well, s**t... The campaign doesnt respect my time as a player. Its a blockage to drag myself over to get to the stuff I wanna play. |
