If you downloaded the patch before it was reverted, you need to delete and reinstall the game. At least, that worked for me.

I am actually looking for a job right now and reading through this, you could have avoided it if you had proper QA on the changes. I have 3000+ poe hours and 15+ years of QA and product analysis. If you are looking for anyone with that spec, dm me. Also I am willing to relocate if you don’t hire remote/outside NZ.

This on its own should not have resulted in the master crashing, but this occurred in an area of the code base that was designed to be exception free, which resulted in the entire process crashing.

It's easy to design something that works only if things are perfect.
