questions from a Diablo player

as Diablo 4 is still in beta after 1 5 years snd devs does bot know what to do, I am thinking to switch to POE 2. I would have few questions:

1. what does early access means in POE2? if I play it then at full release my progression will be deleted?

2. if POE non-season players friendly? I never play seasons in aRPGs so hopefully POE offer almost full content to non-season?

3. does POE have a strong end-game? and with end-game I do not understand farming activities after campaign is done, but what you do after your build is done, e.g. pvp, rifts leaderboards...

4. is pay2win in any way?

thank you.

1. Beta key to play EA...
2. same as Diablo 4, no rewards on eternal server.
3. duno, PoE 2 will have a different end-game.
4. Just extra tabs for Storage, still less than D4.

Some pretty good questions that I'd like to know too.

1) I'm not sure if they've said progress will be wiped before a full release. I think it might be.

2) there will be a 'standard' mode like poe1 I assume, so you can always play the same characters without a wipe. However lately GGG hasn't really been implementing the league mechanics into standard. Sometimes they do, but it's a lesser version and it's introduced into the base game a long while later.

3) poe has had a very strong endgame, with the exception of any sort of leader board activities. Maybe poe2 can add something like that.

4) poe isn't pay to win, but there are stash tabs that feel mandatory in the current game.
ok, I hopped the progress done during EA to not be wiped on full release...

If in PoE 2 will be seasonal realm, it doesn't matter.
there will be no non-season on POE2?
I would say it’s safe to say that your characters will infact be dumped into a standard game variant. As with Diablo and Poe 1.

Keep in mind this seasonal mechanic is meant to keep players from getting bored of the game. It’s a fresh start on the content and wipes the economy clean. This is why many people return to the game. If you have never delved into a fresh league start I’d strongly encourage you to try this. Think a big party for the release of a brand new game where everyone is level 1 and people are happy to find a wooden shield and a stick to fight with. It’s truly the reason why I continue with these arpgs.

of course fresh start with POE2, but I want to create a non-seasonal char, not a seasonal that will be deleted on next season. so will this be possible?
I am not interested at all in playing any type of seasons.

To answer your question:
- PoE has a base game that doesn't interact with leagues. This is called Standard and will be where everyone starts off with the PoE2 Early Access (EA). Just like in D2R, there's no league at the beginning.

To set accurate expectations
It's very likely that there will be at least one wipe of everything at the end of EA, or before the release of PoE2. There could be many. The beta testing the community will be carrying out will likely reveal too many bugs and unintended outcomes for GGG to leave unchecked. They did this with PoE1 and will not compromise their entire universe's successor to save some EA players time or loot.

PoE2 will be fun and worth your time. It will do everything you want it to do, though go into it understanding it's not the complete game, and you will have t start again once the full release does come out.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
