Path of Exile 2 Delayed Three Weeks

I think this decision makes a lot of sense.

Some people focus on the MTX not being there as though that's the main issue, but the real issue here is database management. If you have a messy launch with broken and/or buggy accounts that all generate new data that needs to be saved or managed for some time, it's a nightmare to deal with and could cause further, much more significant delays in the future.

Taking these extra three weeks also makes it possible to do something with the early access player data so that they don't have to wipe everything completely when the full release arrives and start fixing things again then.

I see this as a choice that brings the full release date of PoE 2 forward by weeks if not months.

It also shows respect for the player experience being valued higher than capitalizing on buzz and excitement.

An all around good choice, given the circumstances. Of course having a later release date from the start would have been better, but anticipating software progress and hurdles is notoriously difficult.

It would also have been nicer for some people if this delay was announced much earlier, but I don't know the inner workings of GGG. It could very well be that they simply weren't aware of the scale of the problem more than a couple of days before this announcement.

Best of luck to the staff at GGG for resolving these issues quickly and without pushing themselves too hard.
:(
3.26 ?
So weird that you guys have been hard-focusing on PoE2 for at least 5 years now, and you only noticed that you need to fix this stuff until right before the early access launch. How did you even allow yourselves to make the announcement for early access without realizing that there was stuff like this that needed your attention?

I'm not planning on playing PoE 2 until its fully developed, so early access being delayed doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the fact that you guys have basically let PoE 1 necrotize with 4-month long segments between mediocre leagues. The only great league you guys have launched in the past two years was Affliction, the rest have been passable at best and unplayable after 2 weeks at worst.

I understand that PoE 2 is your main priority now, but that doesn't mean letting PoE 1 decompose is a good idea. I hope the situation for you guys improves and that PoE 2 early access launches smoothly. But I also hope that we get a well-functioning, enjoyable league for the main game sometime in December.

That's not going to happen, though, considering you guys can't even launch early access on it's own, much less in tandem with a league for the base game. It seems really messed up to only give early access in PoE 2 to a certain amount of players while also withholding an expansion for PoE 1. You really want to make the majority of your players wait from July 2024 to January 2025 for ONE league?

Don't forget: the reason anybody wants to play PoE 2 is because you did such a good job with PoE 1. You should have just shut down development for PoE1 back in 2019 instead of basically keeping it on life-support while you focus on PoE 2. That would be better than making a skeleton crew do all the heavy lifting for the first game.

glhf guys, I love your game but man its been a really weird couple of years.

PoE 1?
BUFF SPECTRAL THROW
Is Path of Exile 3.25 a four, five, six or seven month league? Any news appreciated.
No blaming or hating, but I am really disappointed to be honest. As I was for all the PoE 2 delays for the past years. Its not like this is the first delay.

Non the less I wish you good luck and all the energy it needs to get it done!
:-)
My soul is still ready nevertheless.
