Please put some love back to POE1

settlers by far is the best league/patch ggg has ever released in its 10 years of existence.

i find it really impressive that the "last league before poe2 beta" has so much juice poured in to it.

i was legit ready to hang my poe1 towel otherwise.

but not to downplay OP too much. theres still a lot more that GGG can improve.

in fact, if settlers is an indicator to the amount of effort they're gonna put in to POE1 WHILE busy developing poe2, imagine what they can do once POE2 finally releases?

who knows. POE1 might be my jam more than POE2.

to digress a little bit. i m a little torn in between the two. POE2 comes with the new gem system, new passive trees, is melee centric. they removed hp nodes from the tree eliminating "increased life tax". they made travel nodes have much more value. stats themselves are more valuable too.

but on the flipside with the melee buff, i m finally enjoying POE1 properly. and damn. its so good. zoom zoom obliterating everything.

despite poe2 having so much going for it one thing. just ONE thing rubs me off the wrong way. which is skills being strictly tied to weapon types. POE1 is much more linear where if you want to use viper strike (which is typically better with daggers) can be used on a 2handed sword.

heck puncture used to be able to be used by both melee and bows, similarly frenzy. i LOVE the idea of doing your own stuff. POE2 actually allows a lot of classlessness too, but having skills tied to strict weapon classes takes away from the flavour.

so with that said. i really am looking forward for GGG increasingly make POE1 better.

Not sure what you are talking about? Settlers was the biggest single patch in years.

Well back in the day we had massive December Patches with new Bosses. Yeah we dont get those anymore. Guess we are stuck forever with exarch and eater.

So I'm glad you brought this up i'd like to discuss this element a little bit as over the years PoE has had content which sometimes is a part of a patch and other times is left out of a patch.

In some instances like (maps) this is the case and it always made me think perhaps its just due to the ever-shifting cosmos that we cant always visit the places we want or interact with the mechanics we want.

In regards to the bosses (exarc/eater) they could just like maps and some other content apply this system to them especially given the lore it would not be too strange for other beings to enter the arena so to speak and fight over the universe in general as we know it and perhaps sometimes the Exarc wouldn't even be in the game but another god-like being would replace it.

That would be neat.

Tbh the Boss Patch was my favourite over the years. I had the best time with these Updates. A league mechanic not to insane but easy to execute but a whole new endgame feeling. It was awesome and felt right. It´s sad we hadn´t those for a long time now.

And no it wouldn´t be surprising major bosses getting pushed away from stronger, more powerful entities. That would be just a cycle everyone can accept. Otherwise we would be stuck with Shaper forever!

Edit: Yes I know we had just Scarabs revamp for Endgame, I meant the Endgame with a new boss, new influence something like that.

3.24 we got T17's, which were a whole new level of end-game farm with crazy new mods and 4 mini-uber boss fights. A new fragment system to access ubers.

3.25 we got a rework of T17s, a bunch of league mini bosses (yes they are a joke but still they are a thing), div card rework, including a scry mechanic which effectively reworked what t16 maps we choose to farm.

I get that you want new bosses, but you seem to be overlooking alot and expecting alot. Not every patch can be your specific cup of perfect tea.

I miss those, every december I was expecting some kind of new endgame, some kind of continuation of the story and new bosses but nope we're still left with maven and exarch+eater being the "final bosses". And every time for years I just got my hopes up for nothing. We haven't had a big endgame update that actually moves the lore forward like that in years, league mechanic specific bosses don't count because you don't even know if they're gonna be in the core game later. Black Knight may remain as a rare spawn in t16s along with his shield after settlers, but I don't think the pirate bosses are staying if the whole town isn't going core.

Please stop with the T17 BM. These are just there to farm a lot of currency in a short time. The bosses there are just reskined boss fights which have 0 to do with the lore of poe.

Exactly, best times ever. You knew now its time for new lore and also for a big shift in poe.

So what you are saying is, youre a bosser, not a mappers. and if the end-game updates arent bosses, then its a fail.

How do you think the mappers felt when ubers rolled out?

No. I like mapping more than bossing in this game. But all lore bosses got release in their non uber version. And ubers existing doesn´t change a lot for mappers. Oh right it does they get more currency since T17s exist.

So is this a complain from a mapper point of view getting more currency? All I´m saying is new lore boss with something new to do besides altars farming would be awesome and appreciated.

There never was hate vs mappers in my words.
