What are your thoughts?
I'll just copy/paste post I made few weeks ago how i feel about 3.24 core game changes:
here my POV why T17s are the worst change in years and why i rage-deleted my char last league and quit early this one I enjoy bossing while also have some variety doing so with just a minimum of trading Before T17s: SSF or Semi-SSF friendly, do 100 maps Maven witnessed, like shaper/guardian maps + invitations resulted in 25 Uber bosses from fragments(Sirus/Shaper) + 13 Maven (from invitations) and it was basically self-sustaining without trading for any new maps(even if you ran out, doing some normal maps returned quite a few new ones). 100maps = 38 ubers, automatically (even more cause uber shaper fragments + weaving in some elder kills = few uberuber-elder on top) Alot of variety, could also do uber-cortex and uber-shaper with feared invitation which dropped another uber-maven. It also didn't feel bad to run them and either fail it or have no luck with drops, cause they were relatively cheap With T17s: Shaper, Elder, Synth and Guardian Maps are obsolete and dead content once you're geared, there's just no point doing them as they wont lead to any uber-boss, that includes there invitations. This is already a huge design flaw IMO. Anyway, so you gotta do T17s, fine. Annoyance1: First of you have to trade for them because farming a reasonable amount of them in T16 takes ages, and they're expensive. Annoyance2: You need to roll them and waste many chaos orbs depending on your build. Annoyance3: You can not just rush to boss for fragment and repeat because it would be a (huge) waste, they're expensive for a reason which isn't just fragments Annoyance4: It takes 5 Fragments to get an uber boss, that doesnt mean just 5 T17s as they drop rather random Annoyance5: Lack of variety as there are only 5 of them with static layout and most bosses are just annoying in combination with those map mods. (For elder/guardian-maps you had at least some variety and/or your favorite map layout) If you want to do ubers, you have to do them and nothing else (see dead content guardian maps etc) Annoyance6: When you FINALLY got your Uber-Invitation together it feels terrible to run it and get bad RNG(or even fail it) because this uber-attempt is much more expensive now(right now 6.5div for 1 uber maven attempt), but also alot more effort to collect if you want to SSF them Annoyance7: If you run 100 T17s with 2 fragments drop every 2nd map, 1 fragment in others, you get max 30 uber attempts (150fragments) which is about 25% less You can decide to skip the T17 hassle and buy fragments, but bossing ONLY gets annoying/boring quick also you can easy go broke, buy 3 maven runs for 20div, drop nothing, congratulations. So tl;dr: T17 kills variety in endgame loop especially for bossing enjoyer, you can choose to just buy T17s or boss fragments from market but in order to do so you need to play completely different strat to collect the currency needed for that. It's just not fun and feels wrong, T17s bad baseg. | |
" They don't. t17 is just to give you access to ubers and to separate normal and uber fights. Obviously t17 gives a bit more loot but that's no shocking surprise as it's a tier above t16. It's like comparing the loot of juiced t16 maps with t15 maps with the conclusion that t15 maps give worse results. t16 gives still tons of loot if you run those maps juiced, not as much as during affliction league obviously but it's not as terrible bad as you try to make it. You either really can't let go of what you had during Affliction league or you don't run maps past alc&go level. Can't really think of other feasible options here that make any sense as the loot is literally the same as every other league that came without additional map juice. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

T16 are just too easy and boring. T17 are great. But I think they should lower the additional currency, scarab drop rate by half on T17 maps

" Even t17 are pretty boring after they've watered them down by a lot. They should really put some work in a big rework/overhaul of difficulty level for t1-t16 and put the difficulty back in par with the current level of player power Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

"T16 is fine but you need to understand that Affliction league is over. Obviously you make more by investing in T17, as it should be, but that doesn't invalidate lesser, not as difficult content. Besides, T17s got nuked and play almost the same than previously juiced T16s now. | |
Enjoying everything about this League. I even liked Necropolis, because ppl didn't want to put up with it's crafting system, so u could print divines while doing so.
This league is just a huge step forward for me because of the currency exchange system. I really hated to buy and use scarabs before and I never tried to get into the cesspit that is TFT. So this league is the first time I can reliably run juiced content without pulling my hair out when trading. The game is in a good state imo. | |
" Relax, its a joke. But on point, PoE2 being harder doesnt make it more or less nlfer based. Elden Ring, Black Myth Wukong, Nioh, etc are a lot "harder" than PoE but arent really nlfer games. What makes a nlfer game is not difficulty but length to "complete". I dont think they should change PoE, its not good or bad to be nlfer, the question is jut thought on direction. | |
" I am not saying that they are bad, but if you are running 8 mod corrupted maps that have been farmed through the scarab, you must be aware that they are not chiseled. So running an 8 modded non chiseled map is basicly like running a high rolled rare map or only very slightly better^^ €: I roll my maps rare and to at least 90%+ with some mods that i avoid because i have all the % nodes on the atlas tree and i don't see the problem. I play jungle valley with certain scarabs and i get loot. Just the rare div card that i scried there doesn't drop as much as i want it to^^ Are t17s a lot better? Yes they are of course. But they also take a little longer since you pick up stuff all the time and you might have to rush the boss to take advantage of altars and backtrack(love jungle valley for that reason) and you also would get good money for selling them. On the topic of t16
I just sold 30 conqueror maps for 7 divines + 40c. This means two things. 1. A lot of people are still farming T16s to the point of spending good money to buy them. 2. Getting influenced maps is as easy as ever and is also a nice steady stream of income for 0 investment. So yes, everybody is farming T17s and T16s yield nothing indeed. |

" Yes. Mapping is my least favourite thing to do in the game. I don't play meta builds and thus don't do a lot of high-end content and haven't bothered to try a t17 map yet. I feel like the mapping experience is close to any other random ARPG gameplay and I could play other games if I want that. I enjoy heist, blight, delve and incursion. I feel like these are being made worse with every league. Heist: Removal of compasses removed contract implicits. Removal of target-specific blueprints made grand heists feel generic. Removal of alt-quality gems removed consistent profit from heist making it feel like a bland slot machine now. No way to force heist caches into maps via just the atlas, but you can force literally all other content with the atlas. Rogue Harbour is a seizure-inducing crash-fest, but that's not new. Broken Rogue AI since the beginning as well. Blight: New bugs every single league. In-map blights getting bricked by generating unkillable monsters inside league mechanics. Multiple bugged atlas nodes that don't work correctly. Incursion: The Incursion scarab of Timelines has been bugged since it was introduced, half a year ago, so it generates level 1 temples. This results in rooms that don't generate correctly and are literally useless. GGG said they were looking into it last league, nothing has been done. On top of all this, all the current league content completely relies on account-bound gold, but sufficient gold only drops from maps.
