Has GGG said if POE 2 will sell Hairstyles and other character MTX?

There a plenty good reasons for this. But then again, what is so "lol" and "lmfao" about it? Would you rather have GGG focus on their vision, deliver a top tier product

Plenty? Enlighten me on a few.

And what does a gender option have to do with the quality of the product? That's wild.
A very good one would be backwards compatibility to existing mtx, be it earned or paid. Especially paid. That was one big promise back then and still holds up. They want to release a polished title as soon as possible and one can imagine remodeling and rigging hundreds of existing pieces for new models, no matter how advanced your tech is, takes a lot of work and time. Then you casually double that by forcing gender options into your game. It doesn't take a genius to see that this just isn't a high priority, if at all.

Being locked into a Sorceress and not having a Warlock is not a deal breaker. The game plays the same as either. Would it be nice to have? Absolutely. Should GGG go above and beyond to make this a priority? No, they shouldn't. PoE did just fine without and so will PoE 2, if they chose to not offer this feature.

Well I disagree with basically everything you said. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Imo it's absolutely not "above and beyond", as many games have done this for a better part of a decade, including PoE's largest competition in this genre.

It is not overly difficult or expensive for a new AAA game in development. This is soley a developer decison, with no objective benefits, that I completely disagree with from a player choice standpoint.

Is it boycott level or something huge? No. Which is exactly why it's a very strange hill to die on for them. It's wildly disappointing. Even more so since they have previously said they "would like to do this". They should, and no one is preventing them from doing so.

All that said, this ship has sailed. PoE2 is coming and it's gender locked (for whatever the fuck reason)

If they catch grief for it, well deserved.

At the end of the day it is GGG's decision and no amount of kicking and screaming will change that. PoE has some valid problems and I'm sure PoE 2 will also have its issues but being genderlocked isn't one of them. A mild inconvenience for a loud minority at best. It doesn't fundamentally make or break the game, it is just fluff.

Why can't POE 2 have such nice things?

Because in an ARPG such things are utterly pointless.

Yes they should stop selling cosmetics to fund this game, they should sell weapons and other items that give a gameplay advantage

You know the things that aren't pointless.

All those stupid supporter packs that add nothing of value, sigh we need some real MTX like weapons and divine orbs etc

GGG needs to start selling them right now for real money.

To hell with things like makeup and hairstyles and costumes and pets
Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks

There's FFXIV if you just want to login into a game for roleplay purposes.
Even lost ark might do well if it has to be a f2p option.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
my take

would it be cool to have hairstyles in poe? YES

would it be cool to have genderswapped characters? YES

would it be cool to be able to use any character model or alternate character models for your character? YES

is it necessary to enjoy the game? NO

is it likely to be implemented? NO

would i still want them anyway? YES

would i stop playing the game because they re not in? NO

I feel bad for responding to this bait thread, but I pretty much agree with the guy above me.

Because in the end, the only thing you'll see or hear about your character will be the voice lines. When you have you gear equipped, there isn't much to see.

To me character customization in an ARPG is a bit useless since you will covered from head to toe anyway.
No and thank god because Mr.Potato Head gaming is actually [Removed by Support]. Customizing a character you’ll never see because it’s covered in gear is never better than a game at least attempting to have a story and bio to characters you choose to play as. And with that comes their look.

If people can kvetch and shriek and scream and rant and wail and pitch an endless hissyfit every single time GGG does ANYTHING balance-wise, with a mechanical impact on the game, and everyone considers that A-OK and no-problemo-frendo?

Then people don't get to say "Oh, it's GGG's decision, you're not allowed to criticise or nay-say them" when some folks complain about stuff unrelated to Shapers-per-second.

People complaining has changed GGG's design ethos and decisions. They were going to eliminate flask charge regain from white trash enemies in zones; they walked that back after testing and sharp feedback told them it wasn't gonna fly.

DarthSki is absolutely right - there is no good reason this should have become an issue. It would've been simplicity itself to do this early in the design process, especially since selectable gender options for each class could've simply borrowed from existing rigs and animations. The only real resource sink would've been the VO work, and frankly Path of Exile's VO work is not standout enough to make me believe that would've been a crippling cost.

Alas, he is also right in that the ship has sailed and we're not going to see any budge on that. Mostly because A Certain Kind Of People tend to crop up every time the subject comes up and poison the discussion.

If they want to try and charge me for access to my proper gender on two-thirds of the excessively male-heavy PoE2 cast? I'm going to have Words for them about it, and they are going to deserve every one of those words.

Concord took 8 years to develop, took hundreds millions of dollars, tended to every "modern tendencies" and flopped like a soggy sock that couldn't break 1k players because they focused in the superficial aspects instead of the core aspects that make a good game. Hair and gender fall into the superficial category like a stone and if they don't want to, they don't need to address it.
