" Delve is better at league start because of the curse on hit stuff that is not worth much anymore at this point is my guess. Farming Essences in t6 maps or running Heist until you have a couple hundred chaos on your bank account is probably better for newbys to find a starting point somewhere... Not talking about some optimized Heist strategy to hit jackpots, but just the rate at which Heist fills your currency stash is to good compared to the struggle you might have in maps when you lack the knowledge of the game. So just get your cash there with lvl 70ish contracts until you can upgrade your char and farm something more profitable in red maps... Also, send ships to the nearest harbour every 35 minutes if possible. Totally worth it. Either send 500 of each grain and some dust if you have or send 2 bars of verisium to ribbon fell or send 1 bar of versium + 2 grain + 3 dust to the green harbour that is nearby for stacked decks and you will have a constant supply of currency items via the league mechanic while your ressources are filling up for a bigger shipment later. Yes all T16 and below content and associated farming strategies were nuked from orbit when the necropolis patch came out, so that everyone is funneled into T17. If you can't play T17 on your preferred builds/archetypes, then the message from the devs is to find another game to play. The settlers league shipping mechanic is now also only meant for those devoting several hours a day to gold and dust farming. Those who don't treat the game like a job need not apply.
And for those who chime in with affliction league mongo drop rates, I'm talking about affliction standard to necropolis standard drop rates with comparable farming strategies, even if the necropolis one is juiced up with associated scarabs. These same threads popped up with 100x frequency when necropolis came out. " Good thing the devs don't balance the game around the streamer (and editor) folks who make those "I play the game all day" compilations. Oh wait...
