whats the deal with volatile core mod on t17 map?

lol this modifier is still such a joke, actually one taps my character capable of clearing all ubers. I love how their game design has become "just give monsters stuff that ignores character defenses". The fact that it cant be blocked or suppressed and tells you that NOWHERE is such ungodly terrible game design... literal uber boss level BS on regular mobs in maps.
I have noticed volatile cores can chunk me up to 6k es with 90 max res/transcendence. This is without penetration or minus max res mod.
Does seem pretty dangerous. I'm playing a SC squishyish build, but even on lower level memory maps it annihilated me a few time this league. Would be very wary of running in HC.
This shit is a joke and should be affected by resists at least.
Sounds like this mod is functioning exactly as the devs intended.

GGG stated with the introduction of T17's that the intent was to introduce map mods that you actually had to play around, vice being able to over gear and ignore completely. Obviously some of these are more impactful than others, but volatile cores seems to be on point.

If it is any consolation, scarab farming isnt as great this league as in recently previous ones, so you can at least feel less guilty about rolling over maps with the mod if you hate it enough.

Personally, I deal with it if the map is juicy enough.
