[3.25] The Lazy Nova - Archmage MoM Crit Ice Nova of Frostbolts with Svalinn

Thanks for the fast reply @Andy.

Still got another question(s) since i think i bricked my char on a swap try. First issue im facing: im only 93 which would lead into missing import crit nodes on the tree.

The other thing is the now existent dex issue after getting rid of careful planning.Cant even wear boots with 56 dex requirements, cause i only sit on 33 dex after tatoos.. i cant reach res caps now or even wear gear or fully leveled gems with high dex requirements.

Last thing, there is no single timeless available now, which does not affect notables i tried alot even the 10 div ones.. im kinda lost here.

Open for any ideas to unbrick me ;)

Edit: Solved the dex issue by temporarly adding carefulplanning to reequip dex fractured boots. But i still think the missing crit will be an issue and its gonna be hard to hit 97 without them.

I've been testing the Ralakesh / Badge of the Brotherhood setup, since it's very popular. 66% of Archmage Ice Nova with Svalinn and Mageblood use these boots and this amulet, for good reasons.

I have 8 power, 8 frenzy, and 6 endurance charges, and there is potential for more with an expensive ring. I'm currently at 923k EHP and 154m DPS, the transition added about 40m DPS, and I lost 38k EHP.

The loss of movement speed is no big deal if you have a mageblood quicksilver and silver flask (onslaught) and haunted by totmented spirits wand.

It's much easier to switch than it seems. I didn't even make any changes on the tree. If you use Purity of Elements with a Watcher's Eye adding chaos res, gearing is not too hard. Most builds use Wrath or Zealotry with some more juggling, gaining another 40-50m DPS. Mana sustain is not an issue surprisingly, I thought Atziri's Foible would be harder to give up. I also switched out my Militant faith for one which gives ele res per devotion, to make gearing a little easier.

Here's my PoB, if you're curious about the Ralakesh setup. If you have ideas for improvement, please let me know: https://pobb.in/pFHe9V6SoBJh

This is by no means the ceiling. You could pour several mirrors into the setup, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwvLl8aT1kY&t=1s

Please post your latest POB so that we can give some advice.

if you check his setup you'll notice that just the implicits (doubled by kalandra) from the rare ring (+1 pcharge/+6 spell damage per pcharge) make him go from to 150M dps to 240M...

it doesn't seem worth the effort switching to ralakesh/botb unless you have similar gear
After reading about the guy who dumped Svallin for more DPS only to have less DPS and less survivability I have stopped looking at random POB trees. https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/1f6g76k/build_feels_worse_after_a_100div_investment/. Poor guy completely wasted 100 divs.

With this build we have tufferugli and Andy providing guidance to newer players like me. Thank you!

One thing I have learned from being a long time player is having a place to discuss ideas and ask questions is very important for both new and old players.

I cringe reading the youtube comments after a streamer puts up a video guide. There are so many lost and confused players (50% from being new and 50% because they try and follow the pob blindly and miss some key points). The streamers can never answer all the questions as the audience is too big. And you end up with so many unhappy players.

Having a controlled, polite and pleasant thread like this one for people to share ideas and get help is invaluable.

I hope people continue to contribute in any way they can.

that's basically why I have started the guide :)

when the svalinn variant started gaining traction and videos on youtube i noticed that a lot of people didn't understand some of the mechanics behind it, which is fair since most of it are not "standard".

for example, we deal mostly lightning damage, but our main skill is a cold spell, which can be confusing for newer players (one of the first comment on the thread mentions this).

it always make me happy when somone finds useful the infos gathered here :)
Hi there people!!

I'm loving the build, just completed the Cluster Jewels setup and trying to figure out how to keep min-maxing the build.

Does somebody tweeked it after that part? And it so, what did you do and in what order of importance you suggest to go for?

Here is my PoE in case its help (https://pobb.in/inns2xp1ayw8).

build looks great!

You have one of two directions you can go in now:

1) Put the blinders on and grind grind grind for a Mageblood

2) Start upgrading your unique gear with corruptions

The first will make a massive upgrade to the build. But it is also massively expensive. With the second you can make cheaper, less impactful upgrades, one at a time.

You can choose which is more fun for you :)

I took a break today from currency farming and focused on challenges, which is something I never do.

I even did some Ubers for the first time. All deathless (Sirus, Cortex, Exarch and Eater).

I even insta killed Uber Exarch, no ball phases, just dead in a couple of seconds. The only one that was hard was Eater because I am not good at trying to energize the things on the ground with out getting hurt all the time.

So this build has allowed me to do T17's and Ubers for the first time ever (and I am a LONG time player :) )
