Step 1: Move to trash, "Path of Exile.app" in the Applications Folder, Move to trash Dmg, Empty Trash,
Restart.

Step 2: New Dmg, Install ---> Right click or Option Click "Path of Exile.app" in the Applications Folder
and select show package contents.

Step 3: click contents --> MacOS --> run the Path of Exile Unix Executable File - 3.1 MB
" Once you run it the terminal should show up and on the top it will show the directories the app
is using. You want to focus on the----->

****** Path of Exile folder set to /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile. *****

<------- The important point here is "Path of Exile folder set to" ----. It might be different on different machines. the above path was for me.

Once the exe files finishes it will say corrupted move to trash, go ahead and do that. Then find the folder path based on the terminal. If you open Users and do not see the Library, Use CMD+Shift+period (.)
to show hidden folders.

Step 4: drag and drop the Path of Exile.app front the trash to the /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile folder. Once dropped, right click or option click the Path of Exile.app and click open. then click Open anyway, and you are good to go. Just to clarify you are opening it in the /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile folder where dragged it from the trash.

hope that helps. I am on Apple M1 Air 14.5 Sono
Thanks for looking into this on a saturday GGG, much appreciated
The problem is still not solved, the game does not open.
Still not working for me :(
I combined a few of the other Mac threads that all seem to be related to the same issue.

These are the steps I have taken and it seems to have gotten things to work.

in ~/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile
rename update.dat to update.zip
unzip the update.zip in place
cp -R Path Of Exile.app "/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile"

sudo xattr -cr "/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile/PathOfExileClient.app"
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - "/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile/PathOfExileClient.app"

run the "/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile/Path of Exile.app/Contents/MacOS/Path\ of\ Exile" executable.

Updating of the game should start to happen..

Once it is complete, you should be able to launch the game by pressing Launch.

I can't seem to launch it from Steam, but it does work from the command line.

It looks like the update installer that comes out to check versions, etc has some sort of bad metadata that is preventing Mac to run it successfully. That's why we had to change the guardian bit and resign the package. Once that was done, the update process and game seems to run as it should.

I followed the instructions, there were some issues with the mac permissions but I still managed to run the game. Thanks!

UPDATE: after a short update it crashes again

Hi,

For me, the best option to run POE on Mac M1 was to install standalone client using the Porting Kit.

Use manual on that Wiki page, section portingkit (PK) Setup: https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Guide:Path_of_Exile_on_Mac_using_Windows_Client

It's super stable on 3.26.

Thanks, need to try

I used Kegworks (KWS) Setup but currently it crashed on loading step, think the same problem with login, idk

_______

UPD: Porting Kit not working in my side. When go to step for downloading Content (50GB) - have error 'Could not overwrite executable with new patched executable ...'

_______

UPD_2: Porting Kit works after deleting folder 'Path of Exile' in /User/<username>/Documents/My Games
There I had a files from Kegworks (KWS) Setup, after deleting and reistall via Porting Kit everything works!

Thanks a lot!
