GGG and addressing issues; Starting with today's SERVER WIDE disconnect & error message

Ok so apparently nobody seems to be asking questions about the crazy server disconnect that everyone across the board had to deal with 3 or 4 hours ago. Not only was it a message with abnormal disconnect suddenly, but nobody could log in for a few mins. So far, I haven't seen where GGG addressed this to tell us what exactly happened or was the cause of this, anywhere on this forum.

I definitely want answers cause, I lost a damn good map juiced up with "more pack" scarabs used and was only in the map a few mins before this error happened. Came back with all portals gone (while they should have STILL been up). I was afraid to start mapping out of fear of losing it and my portals out of nowhere, yet again. In fact, let's discuss a few unresolved things that needs addressing from GGG while on the topic.

(I was gonna make a few individual posts about this, especially one in particular and bump it every single day until GGG addressed it but I'm not feeling very patient these days and more importantly it's very likely that ALL issues with PoE 1 will be disregarded and devs will be focused sorely on PoE 2 and letting 1 die as a result)


At this point I honestly don't have much faith in even one of these being addressed formally by GGG; but at least this post will be "on record" and other players will chime in and be heard on their stance on such issues one way or another. So, let's kick this off with just 4 questions / topics followed by the reasons these are being asked / said.

#1- GGG how exactly do you pick and choose when or which issues to speak up on?

Reason - There's been way too many things that happened with mostly silence, ranging from questions and concerns by players related to exploits and punishments (or lack of) to server issues much like today.


#2- GGG how exactly do you pick and choose which items to apply "retro nerfs" to?

Reason - While items like
are stealth nerfed and called "retro" but without explaination there's other items that have gotten nerfed then reverted BUT not changed like
these WERE 100% originally at 100% light to chaos converted but was changed to that 60% when nerfed; meanwhile
are the "reverted" versions just before the latest nerf to it. So why wasn't this changed back in the same manner that it was nerfed in?

Make this make sense to us, cause it damn sure has no logic or reasoning currently. *btw this is the one I was strongly considering posting and bumping everyday or week* If you think I wouldn't have, think about why we now have a trade "in league" option on trade. (meh)

For those that are confused by the Ungil's that ammy I linked originally had the last iteration of -25% crit multiplier (was the buffed version of the prior one), then GGG changed it to the odd version
we currently have. Here's where the problem comes in, if the first ammy is supposed to be a legacy version they why didn't it retain the legacy values of -25% crit multiplier since it kept the 100% crit chance value? I've brought this up numerous times and it's never been addressed nor the how and why, which brings us to this entire thread's topic.

By the way for those that are quick to say "this is a buff", the same Jedi mind trick that GGG tries pulling, it's not; it's a change like how they nerfed / changed elemental hit to now prevent you from doing chaos damage. The new ungil's is only good for specific builds that rely on proc' critical strikes for elemental overload node but nerfed the entire use / purpose of the ammy outside of that. When it was introduced it was a great amulet with a trade off but now it's removed so there's no point and now in a bad space where it has niche use only.

The same people that will believe Ungil's change is a buff will also believe that
new version of with your "multiplier IS 300%" is also a buff LMFAO

As someone who theory crafts and make my own builds certain issues like this cannot be ignored regardless of if other players find it popular or are unaware that it hurts their uses. Changes like this are what leads to uniques being called trash and unused, yet somehow clueless as to why.


#3- GGG when will we ever get lore related questions answered that seem to continue to get the silent treatment like most of the other stuff?


Reason - GGG wants players to be positive and be immersed in their game and put in much hard work into the storyline; it's only fair that it makes sense to their audience.

Example:
a) Exactly how much time has passed between part 1 and part 2 of the game?
b) In the land of the dead rising, why are we AGAINST the syndicate?


#4- GGG how do you determine when to "rollback" the servers?

Reason - There's been numerous occasions where rollbacks were warranted but none happened and without explainations given. With issues beyond control of the players and on GGG's end, this is not a far fetched issue that needs to addressed.

Many players and myself included have spoken up about server issues and having taken losses due to them from reasons due to changes made by GGG i.e. graphics patches and then there's other losses from instances like today where it's labeled "abonormal disconnect"

TLDR: We NEED answers from GGG before PoE 1 is completely ignored in lieu of PoE 2. Too much is being swept under the rug.





p.s. Btw I'm calling it now; that teaser video showing Determination nerfed in half means GGG is about to do some crazy nerfs. While this nerf in the video is clearly aimed at Armor Stackers, it's a VERY safe bet that in true GGG fashion the nerf is aimed at one specific build; BUT will issue a sweeping all around nerf that hurts everyone across the board regardless of if they use the "popular meta" builds or not. Instead of aiming for the mechanics, a blanket lazy nerf will be done.

Only question is does this mean they're also about to fix the 24k - 25k fire res bugged chests like they just did heist bugged stuff a month or 2 ago? Say what you want but GGG didn't just "happen" to scroll over determination like that. It was a hint at the target in their nerf sights.

First of all we do get new base items along with the quality change.
The early player power of determination and likely other auras, hopefully, will be just shifted to the late game. Honestly quite reasonable with how much auras provide especially in early game.

Also aside of that determination is not the core piece of any armor stacker btw, so the minor nerf, if it's even a nerf is going to harm nobody at all.
Maybe it's the new level 1 gem values and we see an even further boom in power creep with the next league.

Best to wait and see what GGG is going to deliver us instead of making a big cry topic for no reason.
GGG knows better what's good for their game and it's good that they even do justified nerfs ever so often even if some inexperienced players get upset about changes.

I saw at least one post on the reddit.

I don't think it was a simple disconnect/server issue, as it started showing (for me) that standard was now the error league, necropolis i could get into, but not standard.

Stop wanting over the top handholding and explanations, at the end of the day this ends up being way over the players heads, and misunderstood at best and at worst wilfuly and maliciously used to attack GGG and or prevent others from reporting things properly (ohh look the server shat itself, every single server issue since 2011 must all be GGG's fault)

I get your point, my guy, but I think the dissertation was a result of a multitude of disconnects, shaky online play, lag, etc., that's been going on for a LONG time now and GGG has not fully addressed the problem. You can literally go to the "technical issues" link on the forum and review the endless 80+ page threads on this subject.

We all have "that" breaking point, so to speak. You cannot have an "online" game without it working "online."

If GGG cannot find a way to resolve spontaneous discons, lag, ping spikes, then they should find someone or some subsidiary company that can.

^ perfect summary. Idk about the rest of these guys but me personally, I'm tired of the silence from GGG about many of these issues. People have let the shit slide for over 10 years now and always made excuses. We're either long past the "beta" period or we're not. If this game is still in beta mode like it seems to be then this has to be addressed one way or another. People are gonna laugh at the post but are ignorant to the strong likelyhood that once PoE 2 eventually comes up next year; PoE 1 support and resources will be damn near non existant. It's been starting to show even lately.

Silence is no solution for any of this crap that goes on. They want people to be "positive" yet when real issues are brought to them they go silent. What are we doing here; are we playing a constant online only game with full support or not? If GGG wants to keep the beta treatment and silent routine going then they really should make this is offline available game and call it a day.

If you've been putting up with what you see as silence from GGG about their shit for 10 years, then that's on you. Should've exited long ago.

How about emailing support, making them aware of your thread on the forum. There are tons of posts about stuff every single day..the chance of GGG randomly coming across your post isnt huge.
So optimize your chances, and email them :)
