What do you hope vs expect from 3.25?

With the reveal soon, how do you think the Necropolis EXP alongside the data will change GGG in a positive way? I understand how the next league is already planned out, but I'm curious for the long term direction.

Personally, I don't think the next league will surpass expectations, but I'm curious (like most), beside the upcoming league mechanic itself what core improvements PoE may/could receive to boost our own retention, while being realistic what can GGG do now with the game.

My guess is the upcoming league will be generic and that means less ambitious than Necropolis with a smaller scope of changes/additions that will translate in almost no exploits and minimum bugs. Beside a challenging league mechanic that'll come with the typical bloat of loot and buffs or "fixes" to some ascendancies and skill I don't expect anything more.

What would surprise me in a positive way would be updates to the ladder/rankings of PoE both in-game and within the website. Currently, if you asked the majority who are some of the best PoE players, well outside of streamer organized/promoted private events like the Gauntlet (event that has become inconsistent) most wouldn't have an answer, because most don't even care and that's on GGG.

The "life boat" for GGG right now is rotation between PoE + PoE2 league that will boost retention, alongside the upcoming PoE2 early access and expected PoE expansion similar to the Siege of the Atlas, which is why I would advise most to have a low bar of expectations for 3.25. The fact that 3.25 is arriving in mid summer, while also Last Epoch, Diablo 4 and WOW: War Within will have new content it means only two things, which we'll find out very soon.

GGG will either allow PoE to dwindle and suffer for four more month, because it may not worth "investing" the resources during this period, but then another four month of disappointing/under performing league with low retention would most likely lead to missed projected revenue during the period when GGG counts/rely the most on selling support packs.

What would surprise you in a positive way that GGG could do that would be bare minimum to boost your own retention through another four month league?

I have no expectations.

If ggg adds turtle monsters, I will pour milk on my head and quit for 2 days but probably come back later.

I exepct a turbulent league launch, where they need a week or two to get things right. After that, the league will be polarizing, with some people liking it and some people don't.

I hope t17 is completely reworked or removed it is terrible and unhealthy af for PoE i did not enjoy having t0 uniques cost 1c and hh 5 divines and mageblood 30-40 divines

Expecting just chilling league with braindead mechanics like boat currency, just waiting for poe2 in november or december.

we desperately need an endgame remake.

1) scarabs need a rework (again)
2) we need a new atlas story

SotA was 2.5 years ago now, Echoes a year before, Conquerors a year before that, War was 2 years before that.

We are in the longest non-expansion story timeframe already in the history of the game.


Honestly, I wish we had a mechanic similar to the elder war where you actually need to run specific maps to make things happen. Anything to shake up the "run the same map a billion times" endgame. This league changed that a BIT, but there just isn't enough.
